The 2E had an improved AGEM SAVAN 15 gyro stabilised day/thermal sight for the gunner and a gyro stabilised panoramic SAGEM MVS 580 day/thermal sight for the commander. The need for the TOGS housing was no longer needed therefore it was removed as seen above with the commander getting his very own independant systems which Ch2 still doesnt have to this day untill the LEP comes into fruition. It also featured a new and powerful 1500hp powerpack and improvements to its fire control systems. Although not clear, the 2E also seems to off removed the need of the charge bin in the hull based on diragrams but I’m not sure about this since the gun was the same and didnt use single piece ammunition to be stored in one place.Overall the export was actually a better Challenger 2 however its likely the MoD refused to implement these upgrades due to cost reasons.
