What made your “jaw drop” during a job interview?

I had a few of these moments, all in the same interview process. These occurred a number of decades ago, in my dim and distant younger days.I was the person being interviewed. It was a job I'd applied for about 12 months earlier, but didn't get, but another position had become vacant. I wasn't working at the time, and really needed the jobAt my second attempt, and during the first interview, the guy doing the interview told me that I didn't initially make the cut, for the first set of candidates he was seeing…First jaw drop moment. He went on to explain that it was his wife, who was a teacher, and helping him sift through hundreds of application forms (no Internet, or even CV required back then), who picked me out of the 'no' pile, and placed me in the 'yes' pile…I was only there because of his wife; he had resigned me to the 'no' pile without even seeing me.Second jaw drop momentPart way through the first interview we were interrupted by a colleague of the interviewer, who knocked and entered the room, accompanied by a second person. It turned out that the first guy worked for the interviewer, and the second guy was from the German company, on some kind of “exchange” visit. Anyway they'd come to borrow the interviewer’s company car, as they were having an afternoon ”jolly” to see a stage of what was then known as the RAC Rally, in the local area. They picked up the keys, and started to debate the best way to get to the venue.Well I was a bit of a car rallying fan too, and the rally venue just happened to be in the area where I lived. So I jumped in on the discussion, without invitation, and we had a chat for about ten minutes on how best to get to the venue, the best places to stand, etc.. all the while the interviewer just sitting there 😃The interview ended soon after, and I thought I had screwed up, by jumping in on the conversation.Anyway…I got a telephone call to attend a second interview, alongside five other candidates, or so I thought.I turned up for the interview, and was first in.So I sit in the office, and the same guy that interviewed me the first time thanks me for coming back, and starts to pass the time of day with me. He talks about how when he called me to come back for a second interview, he told me that there were five others under consideration too, and it's been a tough process, etc…Then he says there aren't actually any more candidates under consideration, and that he'd like to offer the job to me...Third jaw drop moment!I accepted there and then…he said what helped him make his decision was me just jumping into the conversation with his colleagues, part way through the first interview…result!Fourth jaw drop moment! Then he said that there was one last item that needed to be dealt with before I left the interview. There was a problem with the 'desired' salary that I had entered on the original application form.'Here we go’ I thought, so he asked me to fill out a new application form, whilst he left the room to use the toilet.I completed the form, all except the 'desired salary' entry, and sat waiting for the interviewer to return. When he returned, I asked him what salary he thought would be acceptable on the application form? Hoping that it wouldn't be too much below what I said I would like originally… and then he gives me a number that is two thousand pounds a year more than I had entered on the first application form!Fifth jaw drop moment! He went on to explain that the salary that I had originally entered on the first application form was too low, and if he submitted the form to HR, with my original salary requirement on it, the company would pay me the salary I asked for, and he would never be able to get my salary aligned with the other department members. In short, the guy was a star, a great manager to work for, and mentored me for the first five or six years of my career, and I will never forget those interviews, and what he did for me, regarding the salary.

What is the best roast from a student or teacher you have heard so far?

There used to be a girl in my school who was always reading. In class, at lunch, after school. she always had a book in her hands. We'll call her Jill. One day another girl was teasing Jill for how much she likes to read, calling Jill a “loner” amongst other names. This continued for about a week until an English teacher found out about it. (This was in year 7.)The teacher decided to give out a spelling test, and, unsurprisingly, Jill got all the words correct, while her bully got close to none. When the teacher was giving back the tests, she stapled to the bully's test an application form for a job at McDonald’s, which she had filled out with the bully’s details, and had written, “This is where kids who don't read end up”.Keep reading, kids!

What are the things Muslims can do in India but not in other countries?

Indian Muslims can travel to any country whether it is for education or as a tourist. But Kuwait has banned Pakistan, Iran, Afghanistan, Syria and Iraq for Muslims. This ban has been introduced by Kuwait since 2011, which includes tourists visas, trade visas and visit visas. If you are in China during Ramadan, then you can not keep Ramadan because there is a ban on fasting during Ramzan in one state. China has banned civil servants, students and teachers doing fasting during Ramzan in their main Muslim Area Xinjiang area.Haj is one of the religious pilgrimage sites of Muslims, and traveling to Saudi Arabia can be costly for many families. India is the only country in the world that provides subsidies in the form of part of "The Haj Act" till 2018, thus the Muslim nationals Enables them to carry out their religious obligations. Millions of Indian Muslims have used this privilege so far.In Pakistan Muslims can not get a passport unless they loyally follow some of their religious beliefs. The passport application form also requires a declaration of being a Muslim believing that Mohammed(PBUH) was the “Last Prophet”. This makes it difficult for the Muslims of the "Ahmadi" community to pass the passport. In India there is no prohibition on wearing the BURKHA, but in Countries like Austria and France, the government had banned wearing BURKHA for Women.Indian Muslims can keep or not Long Beards according to there choice. But in China’s Xinjiang there is ban on long beards and veils. And if still People like former Vice President of India Hamid Ansari feels that there is a sense of unease among Indian Muslims OR famous millionare actor Aamir Khan that he is not safe in our Nation, then what exactly can be done?Thanks…Edit1:- As this is the Very sensitive issues, so Suggestions and Edits are Welcomed.
