PDF Editor FAQ

As a babysitter, what was your, “Okay, that's the last time I babysit for this family,” moment you had during a childcare job?

My biggest one and babysitting service killer was lack of payments or No payment at all on the initial babysitting service provided. That was one reason for contractual agreements.Drunkiness of the parents I could handle, especially in front of their children. If at possible and when convenient I could ease the child(ren) away with some formality in my mannerisms. These children in these homes were easier to handle once you broke through the barriers of self-protection and first gain their confidence and secondly their trust. In truth I really had no “I will not babysit for you moments after what you just did.”.I did have one boy, whose father tried desperately [several times] to hired me out as his son's ”personal nanny”,for when he brought his young son along wwith him on business trips.HERE IS THAT BACKGROUND STORY:In the Fall of 1987 at a Camporee planning session I met a 5year-old boy darting in and out and around the other Scouts. He purposefully bumped into me several times. When the room settled and the session began he climbed into the seat near adjacent to my right. He cuddled over to me and I find this 5yo face looking straight into mine and completely straddling my torso. I not wanting to interrupt the planning session, as my E.S.A.R. troop were going to be the Lead Troop during this weekend event, simply told the small boy “ no more interruption, okay?”. He smiled puzzling and rested his head against my chest.Afterwards I had to patiently wait as the room cleared do to a now sleeping child on my chest. A ScoutMaster came to me, he unfortunately was the administrator to this initial Camporee Planning Session. He informatively said, “ You've met my son, Prince.”. I stared “ Yes, I did.” , not revealing I did not know the 5yo's name. The man escorted me out of the Tulsa high rise business building( a oil corporate ) to the parking lot, still carrying his son. The other 5 representives of my troop, including my twin, telling me to get a move-on. I told the man I did babysitting, had no business cards on me as I was in uniform. He quoted, “Be Prepared” sharply. At the next session, Prince sat again adjacent to me but this time on my left side. After this session at the same building I handed the ScoutMaster my business card, simple yet professionally made up. We parted ways again.Over the Camporee Weekend just outside Tulsa, the 5yo was there; I thought this highly unusual though intriguing. Our two troops yet different in function and philosophy decided to be “sister” troops. Thus began our demonstrative use of Prince. At that Year's 1987 Christmas BSA gathering, Prince refused to leave my side and insisted in hand holding. He keep hinting that he wanted me as his babysitter/nanny? At the arrival of Santa his father proposed that I travel with him down to Dallas for an Oil conference meeting he must attend and the boy's mother was going and doing a fashion show in Milan.*FATHER: Corporate Oil Executive*MOTHER: Fashion Designer and former modelI politely and hesitantly stated I have to ask my parents first. He was prepared for this answer, offering to call my parents as he needed an immediate answer for he was leaving in less than two weeks. And Prince was adamantly attached to my person.Over the phone call my parents fiercely refused the offer. I was to be paid $1000.00USD for 5 days of Nannying Prince. My babysitting, unpaid, for Prince was that I be solely responsible for the child at all Scouting Events and combined Troop Campouts. So from 1988 to 1991 I had an “a little brother” by me almost always. I helped him through Cub Scouts, tucked him in at night, insured he brushed his teeth and hair, washed up and/or camp showered, I orally told Prince bedtime stories, made sure he eats his camping meals, and took him swimming.Outside of Scouting, I was never allowed to go as a Nanny on business trips[ his Father's ]. Prince always accompanied his Father on Oil Corporate trips. Prince did not like the hotel staff nor the hotel's babysitter services. My parents also denied to be a regular babysitter for Prince at their middle Upper Class mansion.A good 40% of my babysitting clientele came from Prince's Father[from Tulsa's Elite Private Schools]. So my parents did once a year granted permission to attend Prince's Family Private Birthday Parties at the Tulsa mansion.I attended Prince's 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, and 10th Birthdays. At each one I was expected to spend the night in Prince's side room in his suite. If it wasn't for his Father's involvement in my babysitting clientele, I would never of had the Upper Class of Tulsa to babysit and proved a most beneficial reference.

What are the possible ways to enter the SAP world?

Since, you indicated that you have good foundational knowledge, I'd suggest you to break in to something that you are the most interested in and most sound in. For example, if you like analysis, a role of BSA (Business system analyst) will suit you the most. If you are interested in technology, then the role of developer or technical architect will suit you the most. There are several ways to break into the SAP world.Apply for jobs on company portal of the companies that have implemented SAP. Several companies post SAP relevant jobs on their portals.Look out for them and apply. Such jobs may require less travelling but relocation. They may offer less salaries than consulting firms. You'll most probably be a knowledge retentor for them. A go to person for their customization. Work complexity ranges from very mundane (support role day to day issues) to high (working with consultants to determine correct IT solutions that align with companies IT roadmap).Work with a consulting firm. Good consulting firms require sound knowledge of your role, system(s) and technology(ies). It generally requires a lot of travelling. All expenses paid. You can earn a lot of traveller points on your company provided credit card. Ever watched "Up in the air" 2009 hollywood movie? Good consultants are very experienced and highly respected. Consultants are required by the companies that have implemented SAP to provide knowledge and advice for new implementation and specialized problems that cannot be solved by their in-house employees alone.Work for SAP. From time to time, SAP recruits new people. You may end up in the product development, consulting, custom development team or product support group (There are many more roles but out of scope of this discussions). Product development job is slow paced (from what I have experienced) and you are removed from the current context of the SAP world because you are most likely developing something that will be deployed/sold by SAP 5 years from today but if the product becomes successful then you'll be credited with its development plus they offer decent salaries. Some companies hire SAP to implement functionalities that are missing in SAP according to the companies business practices rather than developing it in-house. There is tactical advantage for this approach (which we can discuss later). Such developments require equirements gathering, deep analysis, knowledge of standard SAP applications and good technical skills. SAP job as a developer in CD department doesn't require much travelling. Salaries are good but not the best. SAP's consultants are very very very expensive but they are hired regardless to solve some core problems with the gap between SAP software and business requirements. They are deployed onsite at client location for some very specialized job and that requires deep knowledge of core SAP Software. To us normal human beings they are like God's messengers, who come, stabilize software and go all in a blink of an eye. I haven't seen these guys onsite for more than a week or so. They always know what they are here for, they don't waste time, don't spend time networking and they vanish all of a sudden. I am assuming they are best paid in the consulting world. For the purpose of this discussion, last but not the least there is SAP Global support. People in this group are responsible for a specific area of SAP application like Batch Management of logistics application. These guys respond to SAP OSS messages. The nature of their jobs require them to be highly knowledgable in their areas.Third Party product development company. These companies recruit SAP technical and functional people for developing a specialized product that SAP has ignored so far (may be for some valid reasons). Companies like Delego have developed an application that works with Payment Card Interface in SAP and software of various clearing houses such as Visa, Mastercard. These applications are not supported by SAP but by the third party companies. They sell their products independently of SAP.SAP subcontracting for its product development. SAP subcontracts testing work to other companies. You may work with these companies for such kind of work.Working with a contractor. Contracting companies hire people that are in turn hired by the companies running SAP to do day to day mundane jobs such as bug fixes etc. I personally dislike this job because at least in the US, you are subjected to fraud and exploitation. Like, they may withhold a certain sum of money to sponsor you H1 visa and forge your documents and don't pay you fairly or so. Since, you are being exploited, your salaries don't matter.

Why do card processing acquiring banks shun money transfer (remittance) businesses? What are some acquirers that offer services to money remitters like Remitly & WorldRemit?

Money service businesses (who are money transmitter) to many financial institutions and processors represent businesses that are classified as high-risk.There is a reasoning behind such classification and it boils down to a few elements:Inadequate HR resources that specializes in AML/KYC for the remittance businessInadequate Computing/Software resources to implement the necessary AML/KYC/BSA, et. al. policies that would make the FI/Processor compliant from a regulatory aspect.Because banks/financial-processors would have to invest more in HR and technology to cater to money transmitters, many just cannot justify the expense, based on the estimated revenue.Fraud represents a high-risk, even though fraud itself would be covered by a deposit by the remittance companies (in the event of a chargeback). The 3PP are extremely jittery that because of high-fraud rate, their underwriting capability might be adversely affected by the card schemes. To give you some semblance of fraud, Faisal Khan's answer to Online Payment Gateways and Processing: What is the average chargeback rate in the US? (which still holds true today). Then there is the added (misplaced?) that should a transaction that was a money laundered, terrorist financing or drug financing transaction slip through the crack, the banks/financial processors go ape shit as to what the possible repercussions would be from the regulator. For 90% of the processors, the refusal is based on FUD (Fear / Uncertainty / Doubt) factor, and just because the others are not processing, they will not either. Its a reflection of what is going on with other colleagues and peers. In reality, the business is very safe. Let me repeat that, the business is very safe. If you don't have the HR / software, needless to say, you're not ready for it, and most are not.Removing the HR/Software aspect of it, Banks/Financial institutions /financial processors with well-experienced Risk Departments, do provide transaction processing to remittance companies, but do so to those who have a solid operating history in the US, who have sold financials, AML/KYC policy, whose flow of funds they are comfortable with, whose correspondent partners are equally responsible, and all parties are properly licensed. The above prerequisites eliminates easily 2/3rd remittances companies. What's left, are companies who either don't want Credit/Debit card processing based on the fraud or deposit requirements. To answer your last question, in the money service business / money transmitter business / remittance / money transfer business, the financial institutes or financial processors who are willing to work with you, are guarded well, i.e. their names are not shared and are considered hidden treasures (example if you know of a processor who will work with MSBs or if you know of a bank that will open an operating account for an MSB), you keep that information to yourself.

It's incredibly easy to use, my clients had no issues at all signing documents, and I get email notifications anytime someone opens, requests and edit, or signs my document. The free trial is a fantastic way to get familiar with the software. The only thing I couldn't do that I wanted on the free trial was create a template, which was totally reasonable considering the fact that it was totally free.
