The move was taken in consultation with the biggest economist so picking out on deformities is difficult.The move is no doubt an exemplary step to curb corruption,terror funding , black money hoarding but on the the other side some people are suffering due to cash crunches which has given opponents a chance to chastise the move.Even i wondered when the government was not prepared to replace the currency which it was going to withdraw then why did it take such a bold step and did not think about the atrocities people might face. But government had the reason for this as if printing of replacement currency would have taken around six months during which the information could have been leaked and the move would not have been able to serve its purpose.However, i do think that the worst hit are daily wage laborers(forming significant part of population) , as the contractors paid them largely from their black money even if they paid in old currency many would not be having identity cards to exchange notes.Even if their principals endeavor to withdraw from bank and pay them they would not be able to withdraw enough amount.But no war is won without sacrificing a few soldiers.So rather than questioning on preparation one should now focus on making he scenario better and long term benefits that will accrue to India

Wistron is a Taiwanese Based contractor who manufactures Iphones under License. They have factories in China, Taiwan, Vietnam and India manufacturing different models of Iphones.ALLEGEDLY BASED ON DISCUSSIONS WITH BANGALORE PEOPLE and BANGALORE LAWYERS - I HAVE A REASONABLE ANSWEROf course much of this is based on hearsay and conjectureWhat has been happeningDuring the Worst COVID 19 Pandemic when every single penny counts - It is alleged that nearly 2600 Workers did not get salaries for the Months of October and November 2020 and only Part Salary for September 2020. For instance a Worker who was due Rs. 57600/- for September - November 2020 only received Rs. 9730/- (Based on Complaint).A Second issue was under the Apple Work Hour Management Process (Implemented in China) - A Worker worked for a period of 50 Hours a week after which he qualified for overtime. This was promised initially but Wistron did not Implement this. Workers on an average worked between 71 - 76 Hours every week but were still not paid the Due overtime - citing numerous excuses.A Third issue was the Labour Agency. Wistron dealt with 3 Labour Agencies - all Indian managed to deal with their Employees. These Labour Agencies - Typical Indian ones - began to intimidate and bully the employees if they demanded either overtime or payment of their dues citing that 10,000 people would take their place (Literally said Hath Saavra - meaning 10 thousand)It is alleged that many workers spent a lousy Diwali and Pooja - when no bonus was proffered but also no money. Many of them have borrowed money from Loan Sharks at usurious rates to run their homes. Many have had their kids stopped from School (As per their complaints).Why did this Happen?China - the Dictatorship and Aggressor has laws to protect its labor force. They work for 50 hours a week , get paid overtime on the dot and if Wistron does not comply - they are fined sums ranging from $ 30,000 to $ 2.5 Million. The Labor is controlled by Govt Authorized Labor Contractors who will not only get fired but most probably shot to death or locked up in a 10 X 10 cell for 30 years - if he dares to either muzzle money of the workers or ignore the laborers and violate the Chinese Labor Laws or Apples Worldwide Workforce code.In India - this was not done. The Labour Agencies - literally told Wistron “Sir! We will handle it”. The Workers were initially very polite. They formed a small community to ask for (a) Proper Overtime and the Taiwanese Management told them - “You dont work for us. You work for ABC Employment Agency. Ask them”The Labour Agencies said “Are you Unionizing? You are greedy etc etc”.However the excuses became ridiculous includingPayment system not set upCannot pay cash due to some excuseAll Employees need to open accounts in the SAME BANK or BRANCHPretty soon the employees began to find it difficult to make ends meet.The Labour Agencies did not move a millimetre. The Govt of Karnataka did not move a millimetre.Who is at Fault?Of course you cannot commit Vandalism and destroy stuff. That is wrong but i strongly believe that is how its going to be.When the Company, the Labour Agency and the State - all abandon you and the Justice you get will be delivered in 25 years - How exactly will you react?Apples own investigators and Auditors - fair people all of them have clearly found that while the Workers were wrong - the Wistron company was equally wrong and have demanded changes including sacking of the Wistron Vice President.By contrast - Karnataka Police have registered FIRS against the workers for Rioting and Damaging 440 Crore of Property (Now Estimated to be around 7 - 8 Crore)Was China or Pakistan involvedTo the best of my knowledge - Absolutely No Way.It was a simple case of a Dubious Middleman bullying the workers.Most Companies - dont hire the workers directly. They allow Labor Agencies to hire the workers who then work for the Company. For instance - A Man named Jayaprakash will be wearing a Bosch badge or Identity but in reality his employer will be a company called Sathya HR Management Agency which has signed the agreement with Bosch (Just an example - the names are fictitious)Since our Labor Agencies have no laws to follow - they rampantly play around causing all these issues.As i said - Volvo, Toyota, Bosch, Honda have all been doing very well in Karnataka.Will this result in any Problems for IndiaApple made it absolutely clear - NOApple Auditors are fair people who found a lot of issues with Wistron.I only wish our own Govt had stepped in well before this. The Workers did make many complaints to :-(a) Labor Welfare Commission, Karnataka(b) Local Politicians who promised but did nothing (Actually Lackeys to the Politicians …they never met the Politicians)

Slavery.Having a large population of forced laborers required a large number of overseers, who could otherwise be serving in the army.Having a large population of forced laborers meant your entire economy was crippled when the enemy army marched in, and the slaves fled the plantations to follow that army.Having a large population of forced laborers meant that when they did flee the plantations, they were highly motivated to fight with the Union, and did so in large numbers by the time the war ended.Having a large population of forced laborers meant that the enemy had a reliable source of intelligence from those slaves.Also, since the forced laborers were working fields of cash crops, it meant it was a bigger struggle to have enough food to support the army, and even the civilians. This became a big issue by 1865, and perhaps much earlier.Though I think that slavery was the biggest albatros around the Confederacy’s neck, I think I should give an Honorable Mention to another issue: State’s Rights. The desire to have a weak central government meant that Jefferson Davis never had anything remotely like the kind of powers his enemy, Lincoln, had. He never had enough financial support, and states in the Confederacy balked at a lot of his taxes. Men were conscripted to fight, but many fled the press gangs, and were able to hide out in the hills, away from both sides of the war. This could still have happened with a strong Confederate government, but likely not nearly as much.So, whether you think the Confederacy formed mostly to protect the institution of Slavery (as the proponents of the time claimed) or to protect State’s Rights (as many 20th century apologists claim) it’s kind of moot. Slavery AND State’s Rights were both a serious detriment to the Confederacy.Perhaps if Jefferson Davis had eliminated slavery, and forced the Confederate states to accept a much stronger central government, then maybe the Confederacy would have won. But if so, then what was the point of secession in the first place?
