I would not be a president that takes time off.” Yet trump carried out presidential duties at his private properties, such as press conferences and signing executive orders. But he also invested a lot of energy playing golf, repudiating his forecast that he wouldn't be on the green much if he was president.trump left the town he calls the swamp regularly. By August 2017 he had burned through 13 of 28 weekends away from the White House and for the most part spent them at his properties in Palm Beach, Florida, or in Bedminster, New Jersey.He would routinely complain that President Obama spent way too much time playing golf. He said in 2016 during his campaign that he wouldn't have time for golf. "I will be working for you, I'm not going to have the opportunity to go play golf." His golf trips alone cost the American taxpayer $141,000,000.trumps first extended holiday from Washington since his inauguration was spent at his private golf club in central New Jersey for 17 days. Throughout his entire term, his visits to a trump organisation property totalled 428 days. By August 2018 he had spent more than half of his days as president on vacation.Obama took 328 vacation days in eight years including 39 visits to Camp David. The whole thing is absolutely disgusting, Fugly. Just disgusting!

It actually started in 2014, but was decided in 2018.New Jersey has an unusual quirk in its law. If a person gets behind on child support - for whatever reason - they’re put on “bench warrant status”, meaning that an arrest warrant can issue if two additional payments are missed… ever. Now here’s the quirk - New Jersey, and New Jersey alone, automatically suspends a person’s driver’s license when a child support related warrant issues.Voila! The person can’t go to work. Can’t drive to see their kids. Can’t drive to court to explain what happened. Can’t go out and look for a job. Can’t accept any job that requires a license.I gathered four plaintiffs who’d been through this and had their lives destroyed. Like 73% of people in default on child support, their annual income was less than $10,000 per year. One, Andrenna, had given birth when she was a teen and given the child to the father’s parents, who came after her for child support. She was unemployed. She had two other children, one of whom was breastfeeding and she had no day care for the other. She was homeless at times. The other plaintiffs were in similar situations - couldn’t pay, not “wouldn’t pay”, and taking their licenses didn’t help. Some of them had their licenses taken (and found out about it via being pulled over) years and years after the original order was entered putting them on bench warrant status.Aside from being ridiculously counter-productive, it also happens to be unconstitutional to take someone’s license without holding a hearing first.So after spending the year 2014 trying to get the law to change, I sued under the Civil Rights Act.In 2018, I won. (Or 2014–2018).Edited to add: It took them almost four months to do it, and they beat the court-imposed deadline by six days, but, as of Monday, April 1, 2019, the State has officially ended the practice of automatically suspending licenses as a result of defaulting on a child support obligation. They will now have to first have a hearing to determine whether there is a justification for the nonpayment (like involuntary job loss, disability, change in custody, etc) and whether suspending the license will do more harm than good as far as coercing someone to pay.
