Why is Broly's aura green?In the past we had no idea why that was.At least no practical idea. We knew that because Broly came from broccoli then kinda like Popeye it was as if the green represented the spinage, that Popeye ate.But thanks to the DBS Broly movie we now know that Broly aura is green because his power works kinda in reverse to that of a normal Saiyajin.Here is Vegeta turning into Super Saiyan…Did you see it?So Vegeta hair first turns green and only then does it turn yellow.What I believe was Toriyama point with this shot, was to show exactly what I said. That Broly power simply works reverse to that of a normal Saiyajin.For example normal Saiyajin need to turn into Oozaru to use its power. And they need the tail to do that.But Broly does not. Broly can tap into the Oozaru power without transforming into Oozaru, and without the tail.As to why green and not some other color. We all know Toriyama has an obsession with all things vegetable. So much so he gives characters names based of plants and vegetables.So the green is simply more of that.Also another thing about Broly is that when he turns Super Saiyan his hair is yellow even though his aura is green.But by the end of the fight with Gogeta even his hair was turning green. Because Broly was using his Ikari power with the Super Saiyan power.And if we are being honest here, this form rules.Way better than SS2, SS3, SSG and SSB.If nothing else SS2 should've been like this. Considering Toriyama was already playing with the Grade system.And not that form that if not for the aura and somw slight changes in the hair, you can't even tell the difference between SS1 and SS2.At least with some characters you have a hard time.Here's Vegeta again giving us the examples…Super Saiyan 1 VegetaSuper Saiyan 2 VegetaSo the main difference is the aura. Seeing the hair depending on how it's drawn, it may look like he's in SS1 or SS2.The problem is that there isn't a trait besides the sparks on the aura and the hair being slightly more spikier, that tells us at what level he is.While if for example SS2 Vegeta was like this…Then no one could say they didn't noticed the difference.Even his SS1 Grade 2 form was esthetically better.Really because you notice the increase in muscle mass plus the hair is significantly larger.Another thing!When Goku, Vegeta and Trunks explored the Grade system their normal Saiyajin limiters, made it so once they increased their muscle mass to a certain point, they only gained raw power but lost speed and stamina.With Broly he goes from this…To this…No matter how much his muscle mass increased he lost no speed and no stamina. If anything he gained speed and stamina.So even in this regard Broly power works reverse to that of normal Saiyajin.But obviously this power can't be all about pros and no cons.If I had to guess considering the trouble Broly already has controlling his Super Saiyan power, if he tried to go like Ikari Super Saiyan 2, he would simply kill himself.So it has been my belief even with old Broly that forms like Super Saiyan 2 and perhaps 3, are out of Broly capacity to reach them, if he uses his Ikari power.If like Kale he can keep himself from using the Ikari power, then maybe he can achieve SS2 and SS3 as well.

Goku claimed he could have destroyed buu at maximum power as a SS3, but he wanted to give Goten and Trunks a “shot at saving the world”.Besides this fact, Goku overpowered Fat Buu during their fight.But it’s accurate to say Majin Buu is a little weaker than SS3. And a little stronger than Majin Vegeta SS2.And more than anything, it’s Majin Buu’s regeneration that gives him the edge in comparison.
