In my opinion, TamilNadu is the one want a separate countryhood.Yes, Recent happenings in India against TamilNadu and injustice happening to Tamil community, is seeding strong thoughts on the minds of youths of TamilNadu to request for a separate country.A centralized govt having power over state government is a worst democracy model. Not every region is the same and you can’t ask everyone to be unique (Just because you belong to the same country) is simply not possible. Forcing someone to take measures to become unique (Like all Indians should speak Hindi language) is not acceptable.Likewise, there are many cultural differences among the Indian states. India should embarrass the diverse culture and should not complain that not everyone in India is the same.Recently, we were denied our share of legal water from Cavery by one adjacent state despite Supreme Court’s Order. Central govt, just acted like nothing happened and haven’t enforced the state govt to obey Supreme count’s order. No action was taken against that state government and nothing. TamilNadu now lost it’s share of water and hundreds of farmers committed suicide in 2016 itself (Well done India. Good Show! TamilNadu is grateful to you for your achievement)Jallikattu is a TamilNadu traditional event which is conducted on Thai Pongal festival (I am sure that rest of the state people doesn’t know anything about it (May be they have watched some video clip) and all are raising voice against it claiming that it is a animal cruelty. No one realized that, we don’t hurt bull, rather hug the bull and ensure that while the game is on no bull is harmed. (Game is stopped, if any bull is hurt by accident. That’s the love we have for our bulls. No one can never ever love a animal like Tamilan do)Now, PETA (An organization, which claims to be saving animal cruelty, But actually works for multinational companies to kill all the Indian breed of bull so that they can import cow which gives white poison to India citizens) filled a case and Supreme court put a ban on Jallikattu 3 Yrs back.For the last 3 yrs, we are trying to save our breed from getting killed for food (No, PETA doesn’t care about killing a bull for food. They only concerned that, bulls get hurt when humans hug them. It is a cruelty right. damn!). TamilNadu youths and millions of people around the globe fighting against the ban and Central govt is acting as if nothing happens (Once again, good Job PETA and Indian Govt. You really care for Citizens. Allow foreign organizations to interfere on Indian culture and let them spoil everything and you sit and watch India getting demolished).No so called national media cover problems faced by South Indian states (Esp, the strong protest by youths of TamilNadu. All they need is a rape case, or incest stories (Like Sheena Bora murder case) which can boost their TRP). They assume that, India ends with Maharastra and they never considered TamilNadu as a region part of India (Neither Indian Govt).When some fisherman gets arrested by Pakistan, he is Indian. When the same fisherman arrested by Srilanga, he is Tamilan (Note that, no national media says that a Indian is arrested by Srilanga). Why is this partiality stupid media? When Sundar Pichai becomes CEO, he becomes Indian isn’t it? (until then, he was Tamilan. What a logic Sir Ji!).Note that, there are 2 kinds of milk category (A1 and A2). Try googling what is good for health and which breed of cow produce healthy milk and which one produce white poison.Central govt never supported TamilNadu because of political gains and always betrayed Tamil community. These are not the 2 issues that makes people of TamilNadu feel like getting a separate country (Rather sticking to the govt which does nothing good to Tamil people and rather does all the harm) but 2 recent samples.Tamil people are law abiding in general, But, when injustice is all that we get all the time, we are not saints either. Central government and corrupt state govt should realize that.Even, if we don’t want countryhood, we want power evenly distributed to states (Like the USA). Central govt power is not just working fine for India and a few states are becoming victims of this method (Remember, Andra got spilt into 2 because of this issue). South side states hold a large share of Indian economy and gets India a lot of Tax and money. If we are not treated good for what we give to India, it’s a injustice to south states by India.I am from TamilNadu and at this very moment, I could sense that many youths of TamilNadu stated getting this strong feeling of getting a separate country from India. I love Mr. Modi, but at the same time, I hate Mr. Modi for allowing the injustice against Tamil community to continue even after he became Prime Minister of India.You just lost, Tamil youth’s trust Sir. Well, I wasn’t much aware of this group called Karuppar Koottam as being a Malayalee, I rarely get in touch with Tamil current politics arena.I came to know about this issue mainly thro’ Quora with a flurry of questions and primarily more into the details after seeing my friend- Anbazhagan’s answer today.I did a quick research and found that, a YouTube channel of a rationalist group called Karuppar Koottam made a video criticizing an 19th century hymn called Skanda Shasti Kavacham which was written in praise of Lord Muruga (Subramaniyan/Karthikeyan).I am so much aware of this hymn, which is almost a defacto religious anthem for Tamilian Hindus, as it praises about their most popular god- Murugan. Infact, majority of Tamil temples, especially Murugan temples play this music daily in morning as its very auspicious.I personally like this hymn so much, as I used to hear this during my Chennai days (my next door Mammi regularly play this from her home and this one was the first thing I hear when I wake up). That time, I wasn’t much interested as she used to play the older version which wasn’t soothing for my ears then. But I got addicted with this music and hymn 3 years back when K.S Chitra released this in her voice and the record became a blockbuster hit in Kerala too, garnering more than 6 Million views in Youtube.I am so much addicted to this one, that I regularly play once in a week atleast. Even if you don’t know the meaning of lyrics, the music is of different level that stimulate the devotional nerves within you and elevate it to higher horizons.Being a Malayalee, who understands a bit of classical Tamil too, I understood that this hymn primarily seeks Muruga’s blessings to protect the devotees. By inserting it?Yes, he was highlighting that these verses is extremely illogical and against moral decency which in his viewpoint, most of people don't understand because the Tamil used in the hymn is too classical and poetic which layman doesn’t understand in simple terms.Now my take on itI do not join with with the anchor says. Because you cannot judge today’s moral standards with hymns written centuries back.In today’s society and culture, it might be offensive to publicly say- please protect my Penis and Vagina. I am sure, no Hindus or anyone goes to a temple or mosque or church and publicly say, please protect my penis.Thats because much of these so-called standards are made in Western moral values or Christian values, which finds talking public parts as offensive. Its not Indian values as per se. Rather its an imported tradition into India, thanks to long British Raj who strictly imposed their cultural notions especially the Victorian cultural values which we think as Indian today.But in past, such shame factor didn’t exist. Talking about penis is as normal as talking about mouth or eyes in many of Oriental cultures, particularly Tamil culture. In old Tamil culture, there was nothing shameful talking about so-called private parts. Infact it wasn’t even private parts in that era. People in Kerala-TN in olden days never bothered to hide their breasts etc. These parts where just as normal as how we see eyes or mouth or ears today. Don’t we pray to god, please protect our eyes or hands etc? In same sense, it was normal in those days to pray talking about penis or breasts.So I definitely disagree Karuppar Koottam’s stand of seeing these things as vulgar stuff. Definitely you cannot look olden days things in today’s specs.Saying so, I would also love to highlight the public hypocrisy too.I agree one point of Karuppar Koottam’s logic. They said, people keep on chanting these things without understanding its meaning, primarily because its not written in layman’s language.I am sure, no Hindus of today will accept anyone going to temple and chanting loudly about protecting his Penis or her’s breasts. Imagine some group today makes a song asking Lord Shiva show his penis so that we can touch and kiss it. Imagine the level of protests arise, if someone does so. But hardly we realize, what we worship as Lord Shiva in any Shiva temple is his PENIS. The Shivalinga is nothing but Shiva’s penis, thats why its called Linga (the sanskrit word for penis). We touch it, decorate it or even kiss it. How many of us, feel awkward in that? Nothing. Because majority don’t even see that as a penis, rather as a sort of idol or statue. We don’t see the base of Shivalinga as Vagina (Yoni as said in sanskrit) of Devi Parvathy, though in reality, its designed as so. The basic concept of Shivalinga is an act of sexual intercourse, thereby signifying the fusion of Shiva-Sakthi energies (Male-Female energies) which keeps the world running. How many of us will accept a drawing of vagina of Devi Parvathy? No!!! It will be criticized heavily. But there is no issue to draw the same in form of a shivalingaThat same hypocrisy exists in public space too. There is a huge cry against Karuppar Koottam trying to say what that line means (ofcourse their tone is indeed ridiculing in nature, thereby it amounts to insult). But the same hue and cry will be raised, if anyone talks the same things of Skanda Shasti verses in simple language about any deity today.Imagine I got to a temple and say in a simple Malayalam or Tamil, Ohh My Shiva, please come and protect my anus, how many will accept? I will be lynched for insulting the god. But the same verses written in 19th century is regularly sung at temple because 90% of people don’t understand the meaning of it.So the problem is not the verses or the meanings, rather the understanding part… And the problem is the Hue and CryBut I don’t understand why this hue and cry? Whats this sudden outbursts of hurting religious sentiments? What kind of sentiments were hurt? And how it is associated with divinity?And this is the exact problem in this whole episode. In a word, its a problem of BLASPHEMYAnd as a proud Hindu, I believe there is no concept of Blasphemy or divine insult in any of Oriental religions. The very concept of blasphemy or crime of insulting gods is too Abrahmic ideal, unheard in Hinduism or most of oriental religions.In Hindu belief system, there is no concept of God fearing too. You don’t fear gods, rather you believe God is protecting you. Whereas the foundations of Abrahmic religion is fear and wrath of divinity. The basic story of Adam and Eve eating forbidden Apple and sending them to earth all forms the basic idea of wrath of divinity and god fearing nature which any Abrahmic religion follows.Whereas Hindus aren’t accustomed to fearing gods. Thats why you have Sage Brihu hitting upon Lord Vishnu’s chest just because the latter didn’t respond to his prayersDo you think, any Christian or Muslim accept similar version, ie hitting Holy Father or Allah by a mortal?No!!! Because the ideals of Hinduism is different. For us, gods are part of our family. Thats why we have family gods. They are like our own father, mother, brother, sister, son or daughter. We can play or fight with them like our siblings, scold or beat them like our children, pray them like our parents. They are not something to be kept in divine altarThats why we don’t have concept of Blasphemy. We can even ask God to even suck our penis, which otherwise (in western sense) is atrocious.I am from Kerala and we have the famous temple of Kodungalloor constructed by the greatest Chera Emperor- Cheran Chenguttuvan. The presiding deity is Bhadrakali associated with Tamil legends of Kannagi. And its one temple that has preserved lot of ancient Dravidian culture, though it is Brahminical today. One of the famous dravidian culture that is well preserved is the annual Bharani festival where people assemble to the temple and try to arouse the Goddess erotically, thro’ singing extremely lewd songs. These songs are Bharani Pattukkal, which is available in Youtube etc. I am not posting it here as its so offensive in today’s standards as its said in very simple mix of Malayalam-Tamil and most of the Malayalees and Tamils can understand the meaning which in today’s standards are extreme vulgar.One famous song’s opening verse itself, whose English translation runs like this “Ohh the Bitch living in the Temple… Come out and suck my penis”… A commoner is calling Bhadrakali as a Bitch and asking her to come out and suck his penis… Does it hurt anyone? No!! Why? Its traditions. Its part of our ancient culture to ask a Goddess to come out and do things which today we may consider as vulgar.But imagine, if I say the same thing on a normal day? It would be seen as offensive. Because we apply today’s standards on normal days and excuse the same for traditions.This double standards is extremely wrong in my opinion. Why we need to associate western/Abrahmic concepts of Blasphemy with Hindu beliefs and cultural values? We can insult gods.. .Its perfectly fine in Hinduism. Our relationship with our Hindu gods is NOT dependent on a Muslim’s relationship with his Allah or Christian’s relationship with his Holy Father. There is nothing wrong to say offensive about our gods, because there is nothing SINFUL to itI criticize Karuppar Koottam only because they criticize a hymn without even understanding their own cultural nuances. They are criticize it based on western concepts of culture, ie seeing these body parts of private, which doesn’t match to the sensibilities of those people who wrote these works at those times when it wasn’t private. I believe Karuppar Kootham is proud about Dravidian culture, they must understand in that culture, its fine to expose your penis and seek divine protection.So as I criticize the Hindutva Brigade for trying to Abrahmize Hindu religion. They are doing the work which Britishers couldn’t complete, ie making Abrahmic laws into Hindu fold. Hinduism is not even a religion, rather a set of extreme diverse beliefs, values and cultural notions which is so liberal and so much open for multiple interpretations and versions. Many of Western notions of moral values actually don’t fit in Hindu belief concept. There is nothing wrong in incest, polyandry, polygamy, heretic etc in Hindu concept. In Hindu concept, there is nothing right or wrong, rather its defined as Dharma or Adharma which is not same as Right or Wrong. One act can be Dharma in one context and Adharma in another context. Killing one’s own father in a war is okay, the same might be not okay in normal context.. Whereas in Abrahmic faith, killing father is a crime in any context. Thats why Parasuram killed his own mother, which is perfectly okay in Hindu faith, not okay in Abrahmic sense.I don’t understand whats so offensive to Hinduism if one group Karuppar Koottam talks ill about Skanda Shasti? Did Muruga got so upset that he complained to OPS and EPS gang about it?Com’on whats offensive there? Every man has a right of opinion and I didn’t see anything extremely bad from Karuppar Koottam’s arguments other than the fact, they missed seeing it from their own Dravidian cultural nuances.Why should we be advocates of God? Does the god knows to care himself? He who has created this massive universe, large planets, all sorts of complex creations, mind of various creations, behaviour, nature etc doesn’t know how to deal with one of his creation’s arguments? It reminds me of the famous scene of Aamir Khan’s PK movieIf Muruga was upset with Karuppar Koottam’s remarks, let he use his divine spear and punish them, rather a group of his so-called devotees filing petitions in courts and EPS’s police rushing to arrest them.I am indeed sick of seeing the unnatural act of Blasphemy in Hindu faith which is contrary to the values I believe central to Hindu faithAnd that draws the central part of this incident. This Blasphemy issue is primarily due to two key factorsTamil Nadu Elections 2021As you know, this is more of an attempt by Rightwingers, particularly Pro-BJP groups in TN to rake up the issue and make it controversial as its a potential polarizing tool. And there is a huge political vacum in TN today without stalwarts like Jayalalitha or Karunanidhi etc. Their successors are not ideological committed too. He represent the key of Tamil Culture. Even hardcore Dravidians need to realize, his previous avatar- Seyyon defined much of their local culture and basis of many of their great epics etc. He is not someone definable in a Brahminical image unlike Rama or Krishna or Vishnu etcAnd Skanda Shasti is a pure Tamil work, almost a defacto religious anthem which every Hindu in Tamil Nadu sings. Had it been Skandapuranam or any other work, atleast it would be dubbed as Sanskrit work, thereby indirectly a Brahminical work and won’t ignite common man’s passion. Skanda Shasti, though written by a Brahmin, its always seen something part of roots of Tamil culture.Talking ill of Skand Shasti can be literally interpreted as talking ill about Tamil culture, which even Periyar won’t dare to doIndeed they made a mistake treating Skanda Shasti just like any other religious work.A good atheist needs to be Sound Rationalist. Periyar was primarily a Rationalist that made him a Good atheist too. Without rationalism, atheism is nothing but anarchy. This was the point which Karuppar Koottam missed.My basic viewpoint is that, the whole issue was unwarranted and highlights the rise of Abrahmized Hinduism, ie Hindutva in the last frontier- Tamil Nadu.As an anti-Hindutva guy, I believe, these forces need to be curbed at the beginning before they hijack the Tamil Hindu culture.Same time, I wish, atheists to have some logic and some basic cultural understandings of their own culture first rather jumping around with Queen’s culture masquerading as Indian culture.

It depends on what type of person are you?While India and South Korea both have prominent and growing movie industry. As I think South Korea produce less than 200 movies per year while India produce more than 1200 movies per year, which is a huge gap. So, it is very difficult to compare 1200 vs 200 movies.In India, we make movies prominently in English, Hindi, Bengali, Bhojpuri, Punjabi, Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Gujarati and Kannada languages and each of these film industries have their own culture and mindset.Everybody knows about Hindi movies and Bollywood, While Marathi and Malayalam insists more on story, while Tamil, Telugu insists more on movie star power, Gujarati and Punjabi movies now shifting from light comedy or romantic movies to story based movies and Bengali movies in 60’s and 70′s were golden years of Indian cinema then they degraded to lowest level and still trying to regain it’s old charm. Bhojpuri movies are way ahead of their time if time is moving backwards.But in my personal opinion, South Korean movies are more liberal than Indian movies. This also indicates the difference between literacy level of average Indian and Korean.Let me explain you the script of “Oldboy”, In the movie a man was kept for 15–20 years in a closed room, and then one day he was released, then he met a girl outside and they had sex. Then the man got to know about the man who kidnapped him, and he told him that girl he had sex with is his own daughter and when the man the kidnapper why did you kidnapped me and kept hostage for 15 years and make me sex with his own daughter? kidnapper told him the story that he informed everyone about his sex between him and his sister when they were teenagers. This is the absurd blend of revenge and incest, which is not suitable for average brain.When Bollywood tried to copy “oldboy” as ”Zinda”, they chose the perfect actors sanjay dutt and john abraham for the roles but they cannot show such insane story to an average Indian. so, they changed the story.While “3 idiots” is very famous in East Asian countries. I have asked many Koreans about the movie, and they told me that it is impossible for any Korean director to show such complex topic with such simplicity.
