Do you know of an IITian who couldn't complete the degree despite being intelligent?

There are number of example of such intelligent minds. i will share some details about them like “reason of leaving” and “where are they now?” etc.1. Mukesh Ambani – Managing Director Of Reliance IndustriesThe reason for him dropping out of IIT and pursuing chemical engineering in ICT, Mumbai (then UDCT) is speculated to be because of BRAND VALUE. Some folks on Internet say that back then ICT was far more better than IIT. While other rumoured reasons for him dropping out are not because of the brand value of ICT but his friends had joined the same college and hence he dropped out from IIT and joined ICT.2. Prashant Bhushan – Famous Lawyer, Ex AAP Member. He was enrolled in IIT-Madras, however soon dropped out in the 1st semister itself. He was homesick who could not stay away from his little sister and hence he decided to go back in Allahabad to pursue Bachelors course in Philosophy, Economics and Political Science. However he did not complete his course as he felt that the such academics involved playing “intellectual games” against each other. Then he completed Law from Allahabad University and was enrolled as a lawyer in 1983.3. Sushant Singh Rajput – Bollywood ActorHe got AIR – 7 in DCEEE(DCE Entrance Exam). Although it was not for IIT, but this exam is still considered close to IIT Entrance exam in terms of toughness.Though many don't know this, he joined ISM dhanbad(now IIT Dhanbad) first(Metallurgical Engineering), but was rejected after the first semester due to acute colour blindness, and then to enrolled in Delhi Technological University (DCE back then), but dropped out in 3rd year as he gained more interest towards acting and drama than focusing in his engineering.4. Narayana Murthy – Co-Founder Of InfosysHe cleared IIT- JEE entrance exam but couldn’t join it as his father wasn’t financially healthy to afford IIT education and to send him to a different city. Dr. M Damodaran—Chairman of Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) and Head of IDBI BankHe dropped out of IIT Madras in his second year in the favour of Economics at the University of Madras. Later he started his career as an IAS officer of Manipur-Tripura cadre.7. What would be a great idea for an NGO?

In Malaysia, you are required to register your non-government organisation in order to be legitimate, get grants, own assets, et cetera. The Registry of Societies (ROS) Malaysia controls and monitors all forms of clubs, associations and societies in this country, regardless of whether the organisation is a local, national, or international chapter, but with the exception of organisations such as parent-teacher associations, Girl Guides, St. John's Ambulance, and the Salvation Army, per Section 2 of the Societies Act, 1966. Organisation Rules 1984 is also enforced upon registered NGOs.You can now apply online via their Registry of Societies Electronic System. From my experience, it takes one to two weeks for an application to be reviewed and approved. The basic requirements for an NGO application in Malaysia are as follows:-A minimum of seven persons in the organisation;A list of a minimum of seven exco members of Malaysian nationality (can be the same as persons in #1), comprising of the President/Chairperson, Vice President/Vice Chairperson, Secretary, Assistant Secretary, Treasurer, and two committee members;Minutes of the first meeting in agreement to forming the org;A complete constitution (your organisation's rule book) that adhers to the requirements of the Societies Act 1966 (samples can be found at Organization Management Guidelines); and,An RM20.00 processing fee paid upfront, whether you're approved or otherwise.Other info nitpicks that aren't directly mentioned in the application process:-Your official organisation's name MUST be Malay. You may call your org using other language such as English or Chinese, but you must register a Malay name for it. "Sabah Association of Programmers & ICT Builders" won't cut it; it has to be "Persatuan Pengaturcara & Pembina ICT Sabah".Your official organisation's name must mention the region you're covering, whether it be a city, a state, national, or international. I initially wanted to register as "Kinabalu Coders" because it sounded cool in our heads; Kinabalu is short for Kota Kinabalu, the city most of our founders are in, and Coders are obviously us programmers. It was rejected. It didn't match our regional focus, Sabah (state-level), and target groups, which was anyone in the software and startup industry, even hardware hackers. So we went for the boringly long and safe name instead.Your NGO's acronym must be in tandem with the official Malay name (which, by the way, must also be declared within your constitution if you plan to use one). And that's only three that I can come up with without getting a major headache. I have more, but I don't want to make myself vomit. My head is already spinning. The major hurdle with just the application process itself is the forming and wording of the constitution. Defining the logo, flag, slogan, membership fees (which is COMPULSORY; you can't have a free membership NGO per Societies Act, so we put ours at the minimum RM1.00 joining and RM1.00 yearly fees), and everything to do with setting the constitution, is tiring. I've experience both the offline and online processes, and both are a chore. The periodic reports to ROS are something else, but that's another story.

What has happened to our Indian education system, our schools, our teachers, our school principals?

The Indian system lies shattered in the realm of new policies, world competence and the new generations mentality. The severity and strain of academics+cocurriculars is not balanced by extra curriculars+pressure on finding passions.Letting children develop passions was anyways never an option in the Indian society but in this day and age...it has become the biggest flaw.Apart from the society forcing children into a mould,we have zillions of other factors to be concerned about.1.Rote learning for instance.2.The need for quality teachers.3.The need to stress on project and application based studies4.the need to bring equality in schooling. Why should the well off members of the society be entitled to a classy education? Classy education is for all and must be granted as a fundamental right.5.The state should monitor the standard of schooling.6.In addition to theory tests, the MCQ pattern must be incorporated.7.Certain sections of math which concentrate solely on concepts must be taught with calculators.ofc calculators shouldn't be used to a great extent like in the US but Definately certain areas could focus more on acing concepts rather than getting confused in minor division and subtractions8.Sports ! Damn it ! Someone please make the educationists realize their importance ! Great careers can be made in that field too. Hope more people start realizing that.9.Coaching centers/tuitions are an unnecessary evil! Weaker students should be given extra time at school itself...just like other countries.Plus what is the point of the over competitiveness by attending coaching to do well in school ? the need for coaching institutes has arisen due to weak students ...which like I stated before can be solved at school itself. 9.a. Secondly this scandalous entrance exam drama! Like wtf ! Children must use their own capacity, the things they learnt in high school and the supplementary material online to clear these ! why is there the need for death traps like Kota for IIt training ? ??10. Gandhijis words: The point of education is to build a sound character. But repeatedly..year after year we fail to create women and men with a 'sound character'.
