I have bought a few products from CocoDoc over the years. Recently I ran into a problem with one of them so I got in touch and they replied back to say that they'd discontinued that software and no further development would be done on it. They hadn't bothered to email to let users know, they'd basically just stopped work on it without telling people who'd bought it. This meant the problem I was having would never be fixed and the price I'd paid for the software was now lost money. So I asked if, to make up for this inconvenience, they could offer me a discount on an alternative product. They duly sent me a link to another product and offered a bit of a discount. Not, I might add, that was anywhere near what I'd paid for the original software that no longer worked, but hey-ho. So I clicked on the link and bought this new software, but it turned out the link that had been sent was not to the version I needed, even though it looked like it was. It turned out it was for the Mac-only version and not for the Mac+Online version. I realised the mistake within a minute of clicking on the pay now button, and messaged them to tell them to put a refund through and I'd re-purchase the correct one. Amazingly they wrote back and said it was company policy not to issue a refund without me buying something else first. This is even though it was them that had sent me the link. All of this started because of them ceasing development work on the product I had originally bought, and now they were asking me to buy more things to get a refund on the link to the incorrect product that they had sent me. It has now soaked up hours of time and I feel genuinely upset.
