Is real estate sales the best job for lazy people?

Well it’s the best job for lazy people to fail at.You are self employed, so no, nobody will fire you for not doing anything. But you also won’t succeed, if all you do is sit around and wait for someone to walk in.In reality, it’s the other way around.Realtors are the hardest working people I know. They are literally always working. This is especially true for new agents.People in most traditional jobs look forward to Friday, because it’s the day before the weekend. Two days when they get to recharge for the next week. For realtors, weekends are the most busy days of the week. Most open houses are on Sunday, so parts of Saturday are spent putting out signs, and/or distributing flyers for a Sunday open house. Most buyers want to go see houses on Saturday, so that is the day that most offers get submitted. That isn’t to say the other days of the week are easy. You spend your time:Doing floor duty (asetting listing appointments for the office and hopefully getting an occasional walk-in client).Contacting people you met at the last weekend’s open house.making sure your buyer’s get all their due diligence done properly so that they are protected on whatever deals they have going on.Getting all the details done for weekend open houses (getting the details published in advertisements, social media, etc.)Working on self promotion to drum up new businessAttending sales meetingsAttending trainingTaking Continuing Education classesPutting together CMAs to try to get new listingsFollowing up with contactsProviding feedback to existing listing clients, based on showings of their property.Researching properties on the MLS for prospective buyers. This is just a partial list. I’m sure other people could come up with more. No, it isn’t a job for lazy people.

How can I tell my 15-year-old daughter she is awful at writing?

When I was younger in elementary school, I wrote some small essay on some subject. At open house, my mom read it and told me when we got home she wanted to talk to me. When we got home she sat me down, gave me an easy writing prompt and told me to write until I couldn't anymore. When I was done writing, she took it and a pen and marked all over it. We sat down and she explained all the reason why she marked what she did. Ever since then she has been reading my papers and giving me edits and suggestions.Recently, on my junior thesis she read it over with her pen handed it back to me with one single mark on it. That mark told me I spelled my teachers name wrong. She told me I no longer needed her to proofread my work, that as long as I read over what I write I will have no problems.Of course I still make mistakes. Just encourage your daughter and don't tell her she is bad at writing. Instead, support what she want to do and what she wants to write. Positive and productive feedback is the best feedback. Don’t tear people down, build up their skills.
