Be a member and attend.Ours takes it a step further. Not only is everyone -including children - welcome at the business meeting, but we also take it one step farther:Every family receives a complete record of the church’s bookkeeping for the year.And when I say complete I mean line by line.The income from tithes and offerings. The checks written to missionaries. The pizza receipt total from the workday when a bunch of guys painted and fixed the plumbing. Kleenex and toilet paper at the local Costco. The phone company, the electric company, the heating fuel company - all there.You can literally walk back through the year, thanks to the meticulous bookkeeping.And although it doesn’t take a committee to approve spending - it can be as simple as “I’m going to need to spend about ___ for this church activity” - we do take the stewardship and accountability responsibilities very seriously.Sending out a line by line expense report to everyone might be more unique, but I know many churches who will gladly provide their members with a financial statement upon request.I’m not saying there aren’t ever shady church dealings in this now great big world of ours. But the majority of churches, in my experience, are gladly transparent with regards to money.

Banking institutions of all kinds in the US are required by Federal law to perform a rigorous Anti-Money Laundering[1] monitoring process.
