And a lot of those complaints had their origins in choices they made between the ages of 15–22… things like run-ins with the law, drug addictions, having children with the wrong person, having children before they could afford them, dropping out of school, running up huge student loan bills on worthless degrees, etc…It was never, “I hate this job and the system that forces me to work in a job like this so I don’t starve.” It was more like, “I hate this job and wish I could go back and shake some sense into myself when I was 17 and quit school to move in with my boyfriend who left me pregnant and alone.”Eventually, though, people either “turn the corner” on their lives that they hate and overcome those earlier bad choices with better choices and patience, or they dwell in escapist behaviors. Drinking, drugs, and cheating on spouses were the most common forms of escapist behaviors among adults I worked with who hated their lives back then.2 weeks holiday (which I have heard so many don't even use!),I get WAY more than that.
