Hair is a pretty cool thing, forensically. You've already mentioned nuclear DNA from the follicular tag, but did you know that mitochondrial DNA is also possible to retrieve from the shaft of the hair?Mitochondrial DNA is present (obviously) in the mitochondria of cells. It's about 6000bp long and has a region within it called the hyper variable region. Quite useful for forensics.However, in order to answer your question about race - mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) reveals the maternal lineage of the donor to the investigators. Now, why is this useful?Different ethnicities have different gene pools. This is well known. However, some of the alleles in the mitochondrial DNA are specific to certain regions in the world. It is very likely that the alleles in the mtDNA of a person in Africa are different than those to someone who lives in Iceland.Also, I couldn't see any way that you could elucidate blood type from a hair follicle. Maybe if someone is a secretor (i.e. It's possible to get their blood type from other bodily fluids) then you could MAYBE POSSIBLY obtain the blood type from the sebaceous fluid in the hair. I say that extremely tentatively though because I have never heard anything about that before!!

This was possible because of the ingenuity of the Egyptians as they developed basin irrigation.Some people argue that as the sahel started drying up, farmers practicing agriculture in these areas might have moved further south into Sub-Saharan Africa, thus introducing agriculture to this region.This theory is highly debatable because Sub-Saharan Africa does not experience winter rainfall, so anyone trying to introduce wheat and barley, which are winter rainfall crops (and were used in Dynastic Egypt),will face resistance from the sub-Saharan Africans who do not have winter rainfall crop, but rather cultivate tropical crops like yams, rice, and oil-bearing trees.In sub-Saharan Africa, the development of iron technology is closely correlated with the spread of farming societies in the region after 3000 BP.
