You cannot borrow books from the Library of Congress in the way you would your local public library with some exceptions:1. You are a member of Congress. It's Congress' library.2. You work for the Library of Congress, do research for the Library, etc.3. You're a researcher with a Reader ID Card. This will allow you to check out materials to use in the building. Not all materials are available. You much check in materials you've borrowed before you leave. You cannot take materials home. You are a member of the National Library Service for the Blind and Physically Handicapped (NLS). www.loc.gov/nlsNLS is a program funded by the Library for individuals with visual impairments, physical disabilities that make it difficult to hold a book for any length of time, and individuals with dyslexia. The program has its own library of digital audio and braille books, magazines, and music. The program is free to eligible patrons and the application can be found on their home page above.

Syncing events across different calendar services is generally a pretty big pain to implement, mainly because you have to go about integrating to each service individually. To sync events, you would have to capture the event data from one service and then send it to another service in a compatible data format. Generally, this will entail learning the ins-and-outs of multiple cloud calendar services in order to understand the format of their responses and requests.For example, if you need to sync events between Google Calendar and Outlook, you would have to capture an event object from one and then manually restructure the format of the event object to align with the expected data format of the other service you’re sending it to. When you’re getting into more than 2 calendar services, it comes down to a lot of work on your end.That’s not to say if you only need two services it isn’t feasible to do it yourself, but you can save yourself a bunch of time by using something like a Unified API. Essentially, a Unified API functions as an abstraction layer on top of your application and allows for you to make calls to its endpoints which then, in turn, can send out calls to every calendar service your users will need. You can code once to connect to a Unified API, and then you will have access to every supported categorical offering they have, including calendar services.I work for a company called Kloudless which offers a Unified Calendar API. With our product, you can integrate with Google Calendar, Outlook, Exchange, iCloud, CalDAV and sync events between all of them. You can check availability across all of these services, as well as schedule events across them as well. We also offer an open-source JS library called the Kloudless Meeting Scheduler, which will allow your users to leverage a UI-based clickable interface for setting up all of their meetings and events.Our open-source tools are totally free, so it’s really easy to get set up and play around with them to make sure they fit your needs. Student lives themselves are varied economically, socially, culturally, religiously, and politically. Yet what unifies all UoPeople students, is the diversity itself in each of our classrooms. Students study with individuals from around the world, and many learn to appreciate the depth and beauty inherent in diversity. Courses are ten weeks long and the classrooms themselves are virtual, and consist of student’s peers, the instructor, lecture notes, weekly readings, homework assignments and discussion questions posted on discussion boards. These discussion boards are critical as they allow for asynchronous (anytime, anywhere) study and engaged discussions. As a question is posted on the discussion board, students contribute to the ongoing discussion and bring their own cultural, personal or societal perspectives into their answers. Their thoughts can then by challenged or built upon by other students. A weekly quiz follows the end of each weekly discussion period in order for each student to demonstrate mastery of the information covered. A final examination occurs after the 10 week period concludes, which covers all course material. A grade is given the student, and if the student passes, then the student can continue onto the next course in the program.All educational material is provided the students, free of charge, and there is no tuition fee. UoPeople does charge a onetime application processing fee ($10-$50) based on the applicants place of residence, where applicants from developing countries pay less. In the future, UoPeople will charge processing fees ($10-$100) for end-of-course examinations. Regarding the material used in courses, UoPeople relies solely on text-based materials deliberately in order to ensure that all students, wherever they may reside in the world and no matter what kind of computer technology or connectivity they have, can access materials required for their classes. For many students in developing countries, they access their courses from internet café’s, and University of the People likes to ensure that they can access materials from these café’s.Additional services offered students are library services which are available to students and faculty through the UoPeople Library and Resource Center; as well as student services and course counseling.
