Local Grievance # Issue Statement (Block 15 Of Ps Form 8190): Did Management Violate: Fill & Download for Free

Let's take a look.(All photos below are snapshots from my TV. )So, Xinjiang China is the breeding ground of ISIS??The report features Bob going to Kashgar, a city in the western part of Xinjiang, filming and interviewing locals. The film started with slow motion of violent videos of people with large knife attacking others, setting off fires, mixed with clips of knife attack in Kunming, far away from Xinjiang.3 minutes into the film it plays a video of ISIS training of children making threat to Chinese infidels.You would think it is about how China fight against ISIS (no matter you agree or disagree)? Think again.Immediately after the video, Bob questioned: is the violence driven by local grievances among Uygurs? Or was it the influence of extremists driven by outside of Chinese border? “There is no easy answer”, he said.Well I wonder if Uyghurs joined ISIS, are they no longer extremists but local grievance? Should someone who has grievance justified to join ISIS and train children to kill? I have my own questions for Bob and ABC news.Just for some fun. Here is the Uygurs in their normal days with headscarves and in formal attire for ceremony:And how “government propaganda” in each community regarding signs of extremism: forcing women to cover their face and telling others killing infidels can give them ticket to heaven.Are these good “propaganda” to educate about terrorism? Or just a cause for local frictions? No conclusion yet.Later in the film, Bob went to Yarkand, a place where an organized attack to the local police station happened on July 28, 2014 at 4am. The attackers tried to break in and get to the weapons. It left 95 killed according to official announcement but overseas activists said it is more than that figure. The cause? “Somewhat mysterious” according to Bob.Before interviewing the locals, Bob brought up the core question again, is the incidence caused by local grievances or terrorism as “the government always puts it”?According to Bob, people are afraid to talk about it. He then interviewed a woman, asking her if the incidence impacted her life. She said yes, everyone's life changed. When asked what has changed. She thought about it, and said 我也说不清楚，就是很紧张。What she said in English is: I don't know how to describe it, just very nervous. The subtitle showed only this line: I’m really nervous.(The first part of what she said was not translated, only the “I’m really nervous” part)How subtle, blurring the line of who she is afraid/nervous about? Seriously?The short documentary finished without a conclusion. Bob left still not know if China (or Beijing as he likes to coin it) is fighting ISIS or it is just frictions from local grievances. Local grievances who joined ISIS, training children to kill, attacking a police station to grab the weapon… and still hard to tell if they are terrorists or not.You see, sometimes becoming ABC news recognized terrorists is not such an easy task.Why is China not join the fight against ISIS? Because China is busy with propaganda I assume.

You can say anything you want in private, and you can demonstrate as long as you aren’t asking protesting against the ‘socialist system.” If you have a local grievance, that’s fine.Officials can live in a bubble, but overall I’d have to say that the political elites in China aren’t more out of touch with the public mood than the political elites in the United States.

Of course not. Bringing an official to a function where he or she will be amongst likely supporters is a primary way of “getting the word out”. The candidate meets constituents, listens to concerns, shares ideas, and hopes to attract more support.Now, having said that, would that type of gathering also be someplace where dirty dealing could be arranged? Sure… but so could the official’s office, or the Walmart parking lot.Keep in mind, the official will have run for office with stated positions. Winning office and following through on those positions isn't corrupt. Meeting with people who support you in implementing your ideas isn't corrupt. Representing all of your constituents doesn't mean bowing to the will of the minority. Since a majority of your constituents elected you based on your ideas, it means doing what you think is best for your village/city/county, etc., regardless of the naysayers. That doesn't mean ignore the opposition, but if you listen to their concerns and still believe your way is best, then do your best to carry the day and make your world (or at least your little corner of it) a better place. Corruption only comes into play when you start making arrangements that are intended to benefit you, but NOT the people you represent.
