What is the best thing you have done today?

Tuesday night at 9.50pm, I booked an Ola cab for me to go home from office. It showed 4 minutes for his arrival. I rushed down quickly only to see his cab not moving and kept showing 4 minutes. Almost after 10 minutes, I called him but his phone was switched off. I kept trying for another 10 minutes but no luck. It was already too late and I had a tough day at the office. I had my junior with me, too, and he waited for me till I get my cab ride sorted out. Finally, I decided to cancel the booking and re-book it.The new booking was done and it was showing 8 minutes to his arrival. For some reason, his cab wasn't showing any progress either. When I called him, he said he is still dropping the existing ride and will be there soon. By this time, it was already 10.30pm. And here, damn mosquitoes were having feast on me.(Image courtesy: My phone)At last, he came and my journey started. For some reason, at the time of accepting the booking, he didn't see the destination. Just 2 kilometers into my ride, and after dropping my junior on the way, I had little conversation with the driver. He said that it’s gonna take him 70kms. back home, and it will be almost 1.30am to reach his home.I asked him where he stayed, and surprisingly, his home was exactly in the opposite direction. He was little hesitant to tell me but I asked him if he wants to continue or not. He did accept with some hesitation that if there was a way, he would like to drop me at some place nearby (from where I can get another cab) and he can go home.I was okay with this even though I was already late and had a long day. I asked him how to cancel the ride, he said he will drop me at some junction and I don't have to pay him anything. The deal was not bad considering I might be delayed by say another 10 minutes or so and no payment to be made. But for me, his 2.5 hours back home was more important than my 10 minutes delayed reach and about ₹100.So, I accepted the deal. He dropped me at a junction. And, while I was getting down, I saw him rate me 5 stars. I never knew they also have ratings for riders. I tried paying him, but he refused politely. This gesture of him made me happy that he appreciated my decision. It made me forget my problems.Luckily, I got another ride in another 8 minutes or so, and I reached at midnight. My 17 hour long and tough day ended with me doing something nice for someone. I am sure he will remember me for some while. It still gives me a happy feeling.Smiles! ☺ :) [math]\ddot\smile[/math]Shail 'The Humble Rider Flash'

What's the rudest thing someone has said when you were doing them a favor?

I had a small motorcycle repair shop. On a Sunday when I was closed I was heading home. I lived a few miles out of town. I passed a couple guys on a bike off the road with a flat tire. I stopped to help. I went home, got an air tank, came back and filled the tire, had them follow me home. Where I changed their rear tire, put a new tube in that I had at home, lubed the chain, the whole deal, and did not charge them. Doing my good deed for the day. They thanked me, left. Later I noticed something on my bike’s seat, hmm, wonder what it might be? Money? a thank you note? Oh hell no. It was a letter telling me how insulted they were because I used their lords name in vain a few times and my other language was most offensive. OK I will admit I have full command of the English language, including all the 4 letter words. I dare anyone to change a bike tire with a greasy chain with hand tools and not use a couple expletives. What really pissed me off was the whole time they were thanking me for bailing them out, and on a Sunday even. Shook my hand when they went to leave. At some point they found the time to write a note bitching about my choice of words and how I was going to burn in hell. But did not find the time or balls to give me the message in person, but hide the note where I would find it later. Assholes.

Has the Joker ever had a “good” moment? Like showing empathy, compassion, or remorse? Perhaps actually caring for someone’s wellbeing?

There was one occasion in Deathstroke #58, where the Joker received a piece of fan mail from a young girl of age twelve, asking how he became a criminal as a school project. Joker ended up writing back, and she responded, and so on and so forth until they were regular pen pals. Joker discovered that her father was the Mayor of Motor City, but also abusive and embezzling money from the city, so he actually decided to come up from Gotham himself and teach him a lesson. Joker'd claimed a month prior via the Mayor's private email that he'd poison the blood supply if he didn't reveal his crimes, which the man never breathed word of. And of course, a month later the Joker actually arrived, and thus followed a series of poisonings and murders, all orchestrated to reveal the Mayor for the criminal he was. He sent two more emails, one with the demands regarding fessing up to his crimes, and the other saying he'd give the antidote if he was allowed to adopt Janey, of which the man mentioned the latter and the first was once again kept silent.Joker had intended Batman to be the one to be Janey's protector in shining armor seeing as taking credit for this good deed would be against his character, but decided to simply roll with the character swap when Deathstroke was the one to appear instead. This desire to conceal the good deed makes it obvious he was fully aware of it being such. Predictably, a fight broke out when he showed up, which was all staged on the part of the Joker to uphold his reputation. And while he'd been intending to kill Joker at first, Deathstroke changed his mind, largely due to the Mayor repeatedly shouting at him to kill him, and partially because he knew now he'd expected him to kill the Joker all along to silence him. And finally, Joker ensured Janey's father was put behind bars so she could live with her mother, who had been forced to stay away up to this point. The Joker had grown to favor the kid, for several reasons, most of which are unknown to all but him. One of these was that she'd sent him a return letter at all. And another one was, oddly enough, being incensed that a father would be mean to his child. Instead of killing for a laugh here, he had a purpose this go around, a drive to change Janey Bennett's life and general living conditions for the better. He didn't go to the police because the police wouldn't have listened to him for obvious reasons, so he took matters into his own hands, dealing with it in his own way. He even insisted at one point that he would never hurt her because she was his pen pal, revealing the knife he'd been holding to her neck had been rubber the entire time. Joker also seemed not to have any intentions of letting this unlikely friendship end, as the last panel revealed that he'd whispered to her that they'd always be pen pals, to which Janey seemed more than happy about. She certainly was of the belief after that, that bad people could be good too sometimes.
