Cerner needed a strategy to compete with the growth of Epic, particularly in the large system market. Cerner is fairly innovative and has had pretty good growth in the EHR market, and doesn't seem reluctant to explore outside of the core EHR products. I think Cerner is looking beyond "how do we sell more EHRs " to "how do we start putting together an integrated health technology platform for the future" Siemens HS has a somewhat complementary portfolio. Siemens is big in imaging and diagnostics, but has a somewhat flat (but substantial) EHR footprint. Brexit fails, the UK remains in the EU. The relentless march towards further EU integration continues. Eventually health services become the focus of attention with a pan EU health service. How will this affect the NHS?That is not going to happen, and even if it did, that is not the way the EU works. The EU sets common standards, it does not create common organisations. Thus if the EU did decide to pay attention to public health services, it would not create a pan-EU health service, it would define rights to health services which members would have pass into local law, and enforce on local health service providers, whether public or private.Which is almost exactly the way the NHS works now. And since the UK would, as a member of the EU, have a large say in setting those standards. the effect on the EU would be small. In some areas, existing practice would be better than the new EU standards so there would be no change. In other areas, standards would be higher and the NHS would have to improve its service.This question deeply misunderstands how the EU works. It doesn’t run things (the Euro is a separate thing, runs by its members, who happen to be a subset of the EU). It sets standard and requirements, then leaves it to member state to implement them in their own, vary varied, ways, Since any standards the EU sets will have to apply to much poorer countries, it is unlikely they will affect the UK NHS much, Of course, there will be some corner case which raises much shouting.

America actually spends the most on mental health care per capita. Unfortunately this is similar to healthcare in the US where they actually spend more than Canada does to provide much less broad coverage.It can be more expensive in dollars to take someone having a psychotic break who has committed a crime to hospital, medicate them enough that they can be taken to jail and then hold them until their court date.
