The Consolidated Consular Database lives up to its name: Since February 2001, CCD has stored all records of visa applications, including officers’ notes and photographs of all applicants, in electronic form. Since 2007, CCD has been storing ten-print scans. It holds about 300 million passport records, 200 million visa application records, and 25 million records of US citizens living overseas. Some records date back to the 1990s. It is linked with USCIS’s IDENT and the FBI’s fingerprint system, and it is available in every consular section in the world.

I had the same issue. I mailed to us-travel docs people through the website. It is the same site on which you fill the DS-160 form.What I mailed them (My issue) : —I have 2 permanent addresses. One address is in village and the other is incity. I got my passport made on the village address since at that time, thecity address had been very new. In DS-160 form, I mentioned the Cityaddress since my parents are currently living there. You may use the same DS-160 form if it meets the below criteria;1. If there is no change in the completed information.2. The form is not used in any previous visa application interview.3. The form is completed within one year from the date of your visa interview at Embassy/Consulate.Please be informed that you will not be able to retrieve and modify information on the DS-160 application once it is submitted electronically. If you wish to correct and / or update information, you can select “Retrieve an Application” option at https://ceac.state.gov/GenNIV/Default.aspx, enter your previous visa application ID, answer the security questions and then select “Create a New Application”. Your personal information will then populate into the new application. In the new application, update the details and proceed further.Update the new DS-160 confirmation number on your profile by clicking on 'Update profile' option and proceed to carry only the new DS-160 confirmation page. “Update: My visa is finally approved. I took both the DS-160 form for my OFC and they only asked for the latest one. So, update your DS-160 form if you have to and do not panic. Step 1. Get a digital photograph of each applicantA digital photograph is required for while applying for a US visitor visa. The photograph must meet certain criteria. Pay the visitor visa application feeThe fee can be paid either electronically as a bank transfer or in cash at designated CitiBank or Axis bank branches throughout the India. In order to ensure the proper amount is paid and activated in a timely manner, first create a profile at US visa Service website and choose the Schedule Appointment option. On the payment confirmation screen you will be presented with payment options and further details of how to initiate payment. The fee is good for a year from the date of payment. Take appointment for visa interviewAfter you pay the fees, you will have to schedule 2 appointments as part of the visitor visa process. Visitor Visa Fingerprinting at Visa Application Center (VAC)After taking appointment with the consulate or embassy for personal interview, schedule the fingerprinting appointment at least a day or two before the interview at the consulate. Earlier, the fingerprints were taken during the personal interview. But under the new rules you are required to give the Biometrics information at the VAC appointment. This measure has been introduced to reduce congestion at the US consular facilities and to speed up the applicant processing. Go for visa interview at designated US consulateOn the day and time of your appointment for interview, go to the consulate where your interview is scheduled.
