My favorite player, is a man that is often used as an example of how football should be played by young footballers in Barcelona Youth Academy (La Masia). He’s the reason that a man called Zidane does not feel that he earned the title of the best midfielder.5 Barcelona players fight each other for his jersey. His passing are so accurate and well-measured, he can find his teammates anywhere on the pitch, his teammates nicknamed him “Sat Nav”He’s also the favorite player of football living legend, Sir Bobby Charlton.Marcello Lippi dreams of building a team surrounding this manHe’s Xabi Alonso’s Role model.Andrea Pirlo chose him in his dream team. He’s so so good that I don’t even need to type his name and still get 20+ upvotesYayaya you all know it already,Best everThanks for the upvotes, glad to see some love for this ginger.

Why is it that the largely British white-settled colonies such as Canada, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa took up so many British past times and cultural traits but not soccer?

Actually South Africa did, South African Premier soccer league is the biggest commercial league in Africa, and in top 15 in the world, money wise, although we are struggling internationly of late, struggling to export players to big leagues, previous we had players in la liga, Tshepo Masilela, EPL in teams like Man United( Quinton Fortune) Charlton Athletic, Andre Arendse, Leeds united ( Lucas Radebe) the last 2 were still in EPL. After a long while, we seem to be heading in eight direction . we hosted World Cup in 2010, those stadiums are used for local football, Tulane Serero at Ajax Cape Town is from South Africa, a lot of youth in SA play soccer, especially in townships and rural areas......we have adopted soccer or football. And its the biggest followed sport in South Africa.

Which is most powerful soccer league in the world? Which is the more competitive / unclear next champion?

Competitive? It has to be English Premier League. Over the past decade, 4 clubs became champions (Man. Utd., Man. City, Chelsea and Leicester). Not to mention its runners-up position (2nd to 4th place) and the bottom half (clubs that are in danger of being relegated), which is much more competitive. This competitiveness was because of the sudden upsurge of multinational investors that are willing to infuse cash on clubs to help them bring championships. Most powerful? First, we should define what makes a league powerful. I think it has to be a combination of competition, honors and great youth system.Spanish La Liga (also has the honors), Portuguese League and Dutch Eredivisie lacks competition but has the finest youth systems in the world (La Masia of FCB, Castilla of Real Mad., Ajax’s Youth System and Feyenoord’s).Notable Gradutes: Messi, Raul, van Persie, Puyol, Pique, Xavi, Iniesta, Davids, Ibrahimovic, Casillas, De Gea, C. Ronaldo, etc.English Premier League has competition and a handful of great youth systems (Man. Utd.’s, Southampton’s and West Ham’s youth systems has produced the core of England’s team) but lacks the honors.Notable Graduates: Rooney, Lampard, Terry, Moore, Charlton, Giggs, Beckham, Scholes, Gerrard, Owen, Shaw, Sterling, etc.South American leagues (particularly Brazil’s) also has great youth system partnered with great talents (Brazil and Argentina produced the finest footballers ever played).Notable Graduates: Neymar, Pele, R. Carlos, Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Maradona, etc.In conclusion, it is very hard to determine the most powerful league because there are so many factors that are being considered. La Liga would be the closest because of the stardom, talent and honors present but lacks competition. Personally, competition in the league is a big factor in determining the best league because competition brings excitement and brings out the passion and spirit of the game. This is why I think English Premier League is the best league in the world.
