Clock In Clock Out Template: Fill & Download for Free

The Microsoft website actually has some great templates: Excel. Some of the templates are more usable than others, but what’s great is you can look at the templates, take them apart, and use the features that are most meaningful for your use case.I have actually built templates that combine all aspects of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint together but it’s not in the Microsoft suite of products. Rather, it’s on a platform called Coda that combines the best of all these applications. The template gallery is full of templates that range from heavy data analysis (like this user growth model) to this clock-in/clock-out template that functions more as an app.Disclosure: I work at Coda and the platform is awesome.

Even though I have only a passing familiarity with (some of) the other IITs, I can positively say IIT Kanpur is one of the most liberal ones. This is reflected in many of the institute policies - the hostel rules, academic templates, internet usage allowance etc.Some examples of the student freedom available are -No Compulsory Attendance - Even though some professors might keep some percentage marks for attendance, unlike many other IITs, we don't have to attend a certain percentage of classes to get a passing grade in a course (well..except for CPA)Unlimited Internet Usage - We can download as much as we want to and also the internet is available round the clock (in some IITs there is LAN-ban at night and a monthly download limit). I really don't know what a nocturnal, net-savvy person like me would have done otherwise !Lenient Hostel Policies - You can enter/leave the campus/your hostel at any time of the day(or night). One can also visit the hostels/rooms of the people of opposite gender (except between 12-6 AM).Only BTech/BS Admissions in UGs - This is a recent reform and one that I feel is really commendable. We admit UG students only for four year programmes initially. One can convert to a dual degree programme at a later point. I guess there is some explanation needed as to why I consider this to be a 'freedom'. It is way too early after 12th to decide whether you want a Masters degree in your discipline. Unlike the other IITs, IIT Kanpur doesn't force a kid out of high school (having nearly no idea of how strong his interest in the department is) to make that choice. We give them the freedom to make that decision when they are ready. (Similar arguments can be made for making students choose departments just after JEE. But since that is irrelevant to this question, I'll not go there !)Dual Major Degree (and Minors) - Another recent reform. Many IITs (including IITK) will allow you to get a minor in another department. Something unique to IIT Kanpur is that it lets you go one step further and gives you the freedom to obtain a major degree in two departments (one of them being the department you initially admitted into).For the benefit of the non-IIT readers, I'll also mention some of the very fundamental freedoms/rights that I didn't mention in detail as they that are common across most IITs (including IITK obviously) - flexibility in course template in form of electives, student participation in all decisions, nearly autonomous conduction of festivals/competitions/orientation, myriad of activities/interests to pursue etc.

You need to develop a system and strategy to make remote work a success. You’re likely to earn a higher level of productivity and happier employees, but only under the proper structure. Here are some Do’s and Don’ts that have worked for me.DO:Set inspiring goalsCollaborate early on with employees to agree on ambitious goals and help them develop a day-to-day process to keep these tasks front and center. In order to be effective, you should empower your employees to mark their progress with daily and weekly check-ins. You can set objectives and key results (OKRs) regularly with these easy templates.Hold regular one-on-one meetingsYou want remote work to increase productivity, not prevent it. So make sure you hold regular one-on-one meetings to make sure employees have the resources they need instead of overwhelming them with unnecessary team meetings.Encourage face-to-face timeMixing in some face-to-face time occasionally can lead to great benefit In a remote work environment. Of course, many work remotely because they are not in the same city, state or country, so the distance may be tough to overcome. However, if it’s possible to bring the team in once or twice a year, it’s worth it. Employees will be less likely to feel disengaged, better connections will be formed among the team and fewer people will feel out of the loop.—DON’T:Check in constantlyYou don’t want to demand too many status updates. Rely instead on OKRs and spend less time tracking every task. Let your employees know what really matters is big picture goals and achieving the results they are working toward.Require strict work hoursA strict 9-5 counteracts many of the benefits of remote work.
