Let me tell you a story.It is called Top Gear and the V8 Blender.Back when Top Gear was actually worth watching, Jeremy Clarkson unveils his latest sketch. Because he believes that less people are buying cars with a V8 engine, he posits whether there are other uses for V8s?The answer: in the kitchen.Jeremy has a 6.2 litre V8 normally found in a Corvette attached to the mechanism of a food blender and is going to make a smoothie.His ingredients are:Six loins of beef with bones in them.Two chilis.Approximately 500ml of Bovril.“Just a dash” of 100ml of tabasco sauce.A brick.For added bite, of course.He has Richard Hammond assist in sealing it, then puts on some pink, heart-shaped ear muffs before firing up the engine and using an accelerator pedal to ‘give it some welly.’It runs on for about fifteen seconds, then the lid comes off.Thankfully, there’s no photographic evidence that I can procure online.Jeremy then ladles the repugnant mush into glasses. Hammond opts to call it “Desperate Shag in a Skip.”However, it is the silent creeper James May who gets the first taste.Simply put, he’s got the name for it.“The Bloody Awful.”That is as British as you can get.Not least if it “puts hairs on your eyeballs.”

This didn't happen to me but happened to a buddy of mine about 3 years ago.He had a Toyota 1.6 16v and fitted a turbo on it.Wickedly fast and unassuming!He then put this hole on the side of his bumper as an intake WITH no filter. Mind you, his car was a garage and trailer Queen so he wasn't really worried about dirt getting in.It looked something like that but a hole drilled on the bumper itself and no filters at all!So he takes it to the drags one day, starts his car up and gives it a bit of gas to keep it from stalling.Next thing you hear this crunching and grinding.We all then try to see what's wrong, we turned the engine over, it turns over just fine. Then we start to check the turbo.We opened the intake, and a horror scene greeted us. A turbo filled with blood, bones and fur and what looked like half a rat.Yes about 2 people did throw up.It turns out that when it was parked off in the garage, a rat happened to get in and make it its home.But when it was taken to the drag strip and started, the rat got sucked into the food blender of a turbo.Well we had to take it back to the shop and get to work on it.By the time we did that, the stink was absolutely unbearable.However only a new turbo was needed, everything else was fine!He now always puts a mesh filter in front of his intake!
