My childhood was a lawless time. There were many things that appeared and then vanished to (hopefully) never be seen again. Some might have faded with a whimper, others deserved to be doused in fuel and have a burning match flicked at them.70’s style décor – nylon shag pile carpet. Both in homes and in vehicles. What were they thinking?? This is slightly outside my era but my aunts had this in their houses. It was terrible and that nylon smell was awful. One aunt had green (think pea vomit) and the other had eye-searing tangy fruit orange (similar to below). Blech.Moving on to the early ’80s. I was in primary school, there was this idiot fad where all the senior guys carried around flattened cardboard boxes and did ‘break dancing’ at recess. One of the older boys carried around a ‘beatbox’ (basically a big radio) and they played the same stupid cassette tape over and over again. (I don’t if anyone else remembers the rewind, pause play, rewind!)I can’t remember what music but It looked stupid at the time and for some strange reason, the school banned it.There was a mini phase of Rambo bandanas too. Also banned.Moving on to the late ’80s. Everyone went through a troll doll phase. If you didn’t have one, you wanted one. The school banned them too. I’m seeing a theme here.Late ’80s was also the time when layers came in. You wore a long-sleeved t-shirt of one colour and then you put a different coloured short-sleeved t-shirt over the top. Once you’d done that, you then loaded your self down with as many chunky silver necklaces as you could. If you fell in the water, you’d go straight to the bottom. And now that I think about, my intermediate banned that too. You were only allowed to wear one necklace. Those controlling b*stards.MC Hammer pants. Bloody hell… (petrol, match *flick* - burn)Early ’90s at college was all about Doc martin shoes. At least they weren’t banned. They were a fad at the time but they still remain popular.Hand/personally graffitied army surplus canvas backpacks. Color choice was important.Nirvana grunge style was huge for a wee while.That’s the last one I really bought into.After that stage, I was pretty much morphed into a non-conformist and hit my full goth stride for several years later in the mid ’90s and stopped worrying or even noticing fads.Then I had to get a job and fad’s completely fell by the wayside and paying bills and general adulting took its place.

They blew up the bridges and roads leading to the town, which resulted in delays in chasing them down.Such is their audacity, that when village protection groups were being formed with the help of the government, to repel the rebels and to facilitate their surrender, the Maoists responded by orchestrating a massive terror attack. At a purely intellectual level, your question seems logical.Let us understand it in a different manner.This desire, of ceasing all desires in order to reach Nirvana, gives you a push to move along the path. Thus, it is welcome and one need not be worried about it.If you do not restrict yourself just to such academic and get into practical part of it by way of meditation, you realise that you can watch all desires, including this desire of ceasing of desires, from a distance without getting involved in it. When you are able to watch your mind's activities and be just a witness to it, you are no longer bound by those desires. They seem to lose their power. At this experiential level, this question will not exist.It is not correct to insist on understanding everything before trading the path. Just as a student can not understand advanced mathematics of secondary school level before understanding basic mathematics of primary school level, a person may not be able to understand answers to such questions initially.In this field, experience is the key differentiator. Understanding principles is good, but certainly not adequate.
