PDF Editor FAQ

Where are some great locally-owned restaurants that serve breakfast in Bloomington, IL?

Not Bloomington, but Normal. IL…Fort Jesse Cafe. This place is the bomb - just ask anyone that’s been there. The food is great. If you go, go early, and be prepared to wait. It’s extremely popular and very busy!

What are some frequently asked questions about Bloomington, IL?

1.) Where's the best place to get drinks?Answer: depends on your age! There are lots of places near the ISU campus. Either way, Maggie Miley's is my personal favorite. It’s a great Irish pub with good, stout food and great beverage options. The (double) bar itself was built in Ireland, then disassembled and reassembled in Normal, piece by piece. Go there on a Sun/Mon/Tue/Wed afternoon or evening if you want to enjoy the atmosphere and avoid the college noise. Also, DESTIHL is one of the few brewpubs in the area, and it's definitely worth it. Wonderful craft beers and great pizza.2.) That Mexican place, La Bamba (with “burritos as big as your head")--is it good?Answer: NO. The burritos are indeed large, and they taste exactly like a pile of warm sour cream. The rave reviews you've heard were written by drunk college students who stumbled over from one of the nearby, trashy bars after unsuccessfully trying to hit on a member of the gender he/she was trying to get at.3.) Didn't David Foster Wallace live here?Answer: yep! In Normal, that is. And he taught for a bit at Illinois State. I like to think that he stopped in at Babbitt's Books on Beaufort St (Normal), which, sadly, seems to be permanently closed now.4.) Italian food?Answer: there are a few good options, but I personally recommend Lucca Grill. The atmosphere is college-y, but the food is reasonably authentic and quite nice; they also serve good regional beers, etc.Otherwise, for a quicker local favorite, you have to check out Avanti's. Fast but--again--reasonably authentic, and their bread has a nice, sweet flavor that I personally think is a must-taste if you're visiting the Midwest. Try The Gondola if you've never been there before.5.) Didn't Steak-n-Shake have its origins here?Answer: yep! That spot is currently a Monical's Pizza (also worth checking out), at 1219 S Main St in Normal. But there, in that holy spot, the Steakburger was born. And I was born in the hospital across the street.Side note: the “World's Largest Steak-n-Shake" (easily taking that “World's" title since this is a regional place [cf. Roger Ebert's _Life Itself_, wherein he dedicated an entire chapter to this holy grail of properly-prepared burgers and always-from-scratch-with-real-ice-cream milkshakes]) is just about 30 miles south on I-55, in Lincoln, Illinois.6.) Can you catch an art film here?Answer: yes!!!! Check out normaltheater.com!!! This place is a gem in the artistic culture of the Midwest. It's a beautifully restored old theater--supported by local contributions--that shows wonderful cinema that would otherwise be very difficult to catch in the area.7.) Was Abraham Lincoln born here?Answer: haha, nope. You're thinking of Springfield, IL, which is also wrong because that tall boy was born in Kentucky.

Comments from Our Customers

What I like most about this software is that it is very easy to use, I have it configured on my machine so that whenever you want to save a document or need to send it safely you can do it just press a couple of clips and that's it. Additionally, it is easy to configure, it presents the option to modify each document that you want to process in such a way that you can apply, for example, security or compression features easily.
