However, in real life, the weapon it’s based on is the Ares Shrike machine gun, a belt-fed conversion for the AR-15 platform rifle.Bandit and Jäger’s M870 shotgun is based on the G&P M870 RAS airsoft shotgun, which itself is based on the Remington 870 shotgun.Every other gun in this game is real, but their usage is not realistic. Plenty of the weapons are impractical.Smoke and Nøkk’s FMG-9 isn’t a practical weapon. It’s particularly bulky, doesn’t appear to be very modular, and especially for Nøkk, as an attacker, it seems particularly ill-suited for her use. Frost was added in 2016. Why does Frost use such an old gun? I don’t know if it was for balance, or if some guy looking up ideas for her saw the C1 and said “hey, that looks neat!”, and then put it forward.Blackbeard, Valkyrie, and Nøkk are on my shitlist because of this fucking thing. Not only in real life, is the Desert Eagle incredibly impractical, with massive recoil, overpowered cartridge for man-stopping with a low capacity magazine, I don’t understand why Ubisoft gave it to these three. The DP-28 was introduced into service with the Soviet Union in 1928, and in-game, it has a 60 round magazine (incorrect, but would be correct with the DT machine gun). It is also mounted on a tripod, with a ballistic shield mounted on it to protect Tachanka from frontal attacks (or at least, tries to). In the game, it’s a pile of crap that is the worst part of Tachanka. Not only is his DP-28 old, but in-game, it’s also terrible.Anyways. Enough of me ranting, that’s that. TL;DR, all guns in this game are based upon real weapons, whether they’re real, prototypes, or airsoft guns. I feel that the game helps you learn situational awareness and how to manage stress while under pressure. If you have a squad your communication and cooperation skills will improve. Like airsoft or paintball you will learn some things that can help you in real life. If you want to get good with firearms specifically you have to train with them physically. Siege may also give you incorrect assumptions. For instance guns are LOUD! They give you permanent hearing loss without ear protection, people spend years to get accurate and the bullet doesn't magically go where the scope points in most cases. Finally, pulling a trigger of a real-life gun can have massive consequences. That is something the game will never prepare you for.
