Corel Office Document: Fill & Download for Free

First, I’m assuming you mean WordPerfect Office, not Corel Office. The latter was formerly a Corel product, but it’s not produced anymore. Either WordPerfect Office or LibreOffice is mostly compatible, with very few characteristics to distinguish one over the other. For those in the legal profession, WordPerfect Office is likely what you’re using anyway. If you’re after free/open source software, then LibreOffice is your choice.If by “compatible”, you mean document format, styles, etc., then either will work fine. If the MS Office documents use special Microsoft-specific features such as field codes or macros, you’ll likely not find complete compatibility anywhere. If the MS Office documents include mathematical notation, then LibreOffice is a better choice if the equations are in MS Office equation format, but WordPerfect Office is a better choice if the equations are MathType equations.

Because it works pretty well, everybody uses it, and a lot of big customers (like the US Government) require that documents be submitted in Word or Excel formats. Simple answer it’s not as important as people think. But in order to understand what happened we need to take a trip back in time, the year is 1988, business have started using computers, so a new program called a word processor was needed, first to bat is word perfect, the makers of word perfect also created other programs normally used, a word processor, database and spreadsheet. Corel another company did the same thing but added a drawing program, Apple came on board with Apple works, and Microsoft came on board with Microsoft works. Later Microsoft would add power point, Apple would join suit with two other programs, Microsoft renamed from works to office, and packages it with outlook. After a time when Microsoft grew in market share, all the other suits vanished except for apples of course. You can still find word processors spreadsheets, database programs around but not in their original suits. As Microsoft gained ground, it was viewed by most people in business and schools that everyone had a windows computer, not thinking they may have a Mac or something else. And since these people used Microsoft office, they required others to use the same thing. It was even porter over to Mac, but some time ago open office came about, it was able to have the same exact software as Microsoft office and is compatible with ms office, you could even get the same fonts, save and read documents as ms office documents, then libre office came into play, so now I can have a Linux machine and even though I’m told I have to have ms office because the school or job says so, I can take their documents and pull them up in libre office, work on them make changes and take it back and if I did not tell them so, they would have no clue I was not using ms office. So there you have it, it’s only important because these organizations make it important in their own minds, it no longer exists in reality.
