Nothing is taken here at the end of a marking period - unless a chapter test lines up with the end of the marking period, of course. Sometimes schools do benchmark assessments, too.

Ahhhhhhhh this question.Let me put a few things in perspective:I was an AWFUL high school studentI fell in love with EMS as soon as I did my first ride alongI cant manage my time for shitIt was in my senior year of highschoolWe had to do ten assessment callsSooooooooo…With all this I can tell you it was pretty hard but I loved it. I'm not the kind of practical thinker most EMTs are so it took awhile to learn how to do things efficiently. Mybrady (the online reading/chapter tests) is a major pain in the ass. I would say 1/4 of the class failed simply because they forgot to turn in the tests online. Just study the different algorithms for trauma, medical, airway, CPR, etc…. Study with flash cards and know all the contraindications for meds/interventions.The class was pretty hard for me but I was dedicated. I messed up a decent amount but didnt let it pull me down. If you have empathy for yourself and really want it, you can do it. I will say some people just werent ment to be EMTs in my eyes and cant handle the stress. If you freeze, go back to basics and execute them perfectly.-John R.

Giving mocks is extremely important but it is imperative to analyze the mocks. If you don’t analyze the mock after giving it is as good as not giving the mock.You need to give good quality mocks which resemble the actual CET.Before going into detailed analysis, let’s see why do we need to analyse a mock test?To assess your current level of preparationTo maximize your strengths & minimize your weaknessesTo design an appropriate strategyTo avoid repeating the same mistakesSteps to analyse CET mocks:1.Section-wise Analysis:When you attempt a mock test, always start with the section you are most comfortable with. Your attitude has a great impact on your performance in the test. A negative attitude can hamper your performance while a positive attitude will boost your score. Since in CET you get questions randomly from any section. Therefore, starting with an easy questions and your strong areas will build up your confidence and fetch you a good score in the exam. After going through all the easy ones you can return and go for the difficult ones.After scanning your section-wise scores & accuracy, decide the time you should invest in every section in your next mock test.Remember, you need to maintain a good balance in all sections for clearing the sectional cut offs.Sectional time limit may not be there. So, you should prepare an effective strategy for each section separately.2.Question-wise Analysis:After sectional analysis, check your question-wise analysis and strategize within sections.Decide the sequence in which you should attempt the questions:- your strong areas/easy questions/less time-consuming to weak areas/difficult questions/more time-consuming.Decide the time you need to allot to each question type. If you make a time-efficient plan, you can invest the saved time to solve the more complicated questions later. On the whole, this strategy results in a really good score.Questions answered correctly: Most students tend to ignore their strong areas. But, there can be a better way to utilize your strengths. Check if the solution technique adopted for the question was same as yours? Or is it more time-saving than yours? Did you spend more time on these questions than required?Questions answered incorrectly: Now see the of questions you attempted wrongly. These questions are the danger area because you are investing your time in it and fetching a negative. Now, this can happen because you are overconfident about these chapters, know the concepts wrong or did some silly mistakes. Remember, silly mistakes are the greatest sin for any competitive exam including CET.Avoid silly mistakes at any cost.Revise the concepts of these chapters.Questions left unattempted: The number of unattempted questions that you were not able to solve in exam due to any reasons like lack of time etc. but you are able to solve now were the missed opportunities. Give a thought and see why didn’t you attempt these questions. Was it lack of knowledge, confidence ,slow speed etc. Identify the chapters to which these questions belong. Work on it.For unattempted questions which you couldn't solve even after mock identify the chapters these questions belong to. These are your weak areas. Study the concepts of these chapters and solve individual chapters tests for them.This kind of analysis lets you identify- which questions aren’t worth spending time, which questions should be done first, which questions should be tried later and how much time should be allotted to various question types.Do not feel disheartened if you are not able to score well in the initial mocks. ‘Rome was not built in a day’. That’s why the motive behind taking mock tests is to assist you in designing the most appropriate strategy before your exam date.Most important of all, keep revising and practicing the previous mocks on regular intervals. Some students forget to do this, thus ending up making the same mistakes over and over again.Draw up a strategy for the next Mock.On the basis of your current attempt, draw up a strategy for the next exam. Give yourself a series of directives to follow in the next exam, and see how it goes.If it goes well continue with the same strategy or with minor updates.If it doesn’t go well draw a new strategy that fits you the best.Best of Luck!!
