Walmart: Fill & Download for Free

I’ll bite. I went to both Walmart and Target today.Here was my experience at Walmart this morning.People walking down the middle of the traffic aisles. Not bothering to notice or care there were moving cars approaching.Absolutely jam packed with people just parking their carts at a slant while they go up and down the aisle looking at various stuff. Didn’t give a damn about anything outside their personal bubble.A woman with a hairdo that was about a foot tall walking around yelling at the top of her lungs “Walmart is ray-cis!” over and over again until a security guard appeared and booted her out.Tell the panhandler at the exit of the lot I don’t have spare change on me.Now for Target this afternoon.No trouble parking at all and no worries about hitting someone.People say “excuse me” if they end up blocking the way through an aisle.No crazy people it seemed.Far less crowded inside. Shopping was a breeze.Overall, I can’t speak for every Walmart out there and I have no animosity towards Walmart. However, whenever I go into one there’s always something going on. The prices are great but you definitely pay for that in other ways. Shopping at Target has always been easy and if they have higher prices they make up for it in attracting a better clientele and providing peace of mind while there.

The Asda chain was founded in the UK in 1949. Walmart was founded in the US in 1962. This should hint at the enormous false assumption inherent in the question.Asda had no connection with Walmart until 1999, when the American company bought the British company. So at that point in time, the UK stores were already operating under the Asda name, because they always had done. Walmart presumably toyed with the idea of rebranding them, but realised that that would probably be a pretty dumb thing to do in terms of customer recognition and perception, so left them as they were.So, no, this was not a question of Walmart deciding to call their UK stores something else, but simply retaining the name that had been used in the UK, starting 13 years before Walmart even existed.

I’m in the grocery section of my Walmart Supercenter. In front of me is what appears to be a husband and wife and their young son. The boy is maybe five and is wandering around looking at stuff.A display of those snack packs that you might give a child for lunch catches his eye. He picks one out and predictably says, “Mommy can I have this?”What happened next completely astounded me!Mother- “No honey. We have other things to eat at home.”Boy- “Fuck you mommy!”Mother- “Honey, you know I don’t like that word. Now put it back.”What! If I ever said “fuck you” to my mother at five years old I wouldn’t be typing this because I’d be dead. My mother would have went ballistic and my father would have killed me! The father in this case said absolutely nothing. They both acted like it was the most natural thing in the world for a young kid to speak to his mother like that.This family group wandered away as if nothing ever happened and I just shook my head in amazement!
