How can you do a roadtrip to Thailand from India?

You may have spent hours looking for the right air fare or the most feasible budget travel when planning a foreign trip. Fortunately, this is no longer a problem, especially if your holiday plan is to pack your bags and head to the magical plains and temples of Thailand, by road. There is nothing more amazing in this world for a ‘road runner’ than the vast, empty stretch of sun-kissed highway road, a bike or a car and some good music. The destination comes second. But what if the destination this time, took you to a land strewn with azure beaches, pristine pagodas and culture steeped in history? That’s right, you can now pack your floral shirts and duffel bags, your sunglasses and cameras and head towards the beautiful country of Thailand, via Myanmar, all thanks to the Indian Government. The good news; there is a trilateral highway being built from Moreh in Manipur, India to Mae Sot in Thailand and is expected to be completed by 2016. Imagine the sheer joy you will feel whilst driving or riding past the jade plains and hills of Myanmar, the rich culture breezing by as you cross Mandalay and Myawaddy before you make your way to Thailand and her transcendent beauty! Here are a few facts that would gear you up for the one week (approximately) drive to Thailand from India:Where the highway begins: Known as the India-Myanmar-Thailand Trilateral Highway, this road trip will begin from Moreh in Manipur, India.Distance from India to Thailand By Road: Approximately 4,305KMWhere the highway ends: Mae Sot, ThailandBest season to travel: November-FebruaryThings to Carry:For Visa on arrival: (Documents required for Non-Indians)– Passport or travel document with validity not less than 6 months.– Visa application form completely filled out.– One recent photograph (4×6 cm).– Myanmar Kyat for paying fines (if any), toll charges etc. 1 MMK is around 0.05 INR, so ensure you carry enough cash for the road ahead. Is it possible to travel now out of US?

“Is it possible to travel now out of US?”As of July 19, 2020 Americans travelers have several options, many of which have specific regulations. There are additional options for specific individuals in certain situations but I haven’t included them here as they don’t affect the standard traveller. Some examples would include Americans entering Cuba for reasons other than tourism, those with dual citizenship, and students previously accepted for studies in the EU. I should also note that the U.S. has issued a Global Health Advisory that advises citizens not to travel, and specifically to avoid all International travel due to COVID-19.1 - U.S. Virgin Islands / Puerto Rico: health screenings and temperature checks upon arrival, and requested self-health monitoring for 14 days.2 - United Kingdom: provide journey and contact information on a Public Health Locator form, followed by a mandatory 14-day self-isolation that may be verified for compliance.3 - Ireland: same as UK.4 - Mexico: the land border remains closed but you can fly to several areas (Cancun, Puerto Vallarta, etc.). Check with the U.S. Embassy and Consulates in Mexico to find out which states are currently open.5 - Dominican Republic: no requirements.6 - Antigua & Barbuda: Health screening and temperature check upon arrival, and potential testing. Must adhere to social distancing guidelines including wearing face masks in public. Required tested at the airport followed by quarantine until the results are ready, which typically takes four to eight hours. Once released, travelers must take their temperature twice daily and report it online - but no cheating because they’ll be tested every few days until departure!12 - French Polynesia: provide a negative test taken within 72 hours, as well as proof of a travel insurance policy before departure. Upon arrival submit to random testing within a four day period.13 - Jamaica: temperature test upon arrival, and possible testing and quarantine based on that.14 - Maldives (uninhabited islands are open; inhabited islands open on Aug. 1): no fees or testing, and only those that show symptoms upon arrival will need to quarantine.15 - Saint Lucia: show certified proof of a negative coronavirus test taken within 48 hours of departure.16 - St. Barths: provide a negative COVID-19 test 72 hours prior to arrival, or test upon arrival and quarantine until the results come back.
