For all those biting their nails, and dreading about the impending danger, check the tips mentioned below, to score 90 per cent marks in the exams:(1) Study regularly: Do not assume that the final examination is not important enough as a summative assessment. A regular study always leads to good performance.(2) Review sample papers: It is advisable that the candidates solve sample question papers and keep practising till they get a hold of the pattern.(3) Revise the NCERT books thoroughly: For CBSE board students, all questions from the NCERT book should be revised thoroughly.(4) Focus on time management: Stick to a schedule and solve at least one sample paper every day. The breaks should be pre-planned and short, with a definite end. Try using alarm clocks to mark time.(5) Practice writing: Since you will have to do a fair amount of writing during the examination, it is critical to ensure that there is a uniform speed of writing throughout the entire duration of the test to minimise the chances of not completing it.(6) And finally take care of your mind and body: Relaxing, doing deep breathing exercises, meditating etc. helps you stay completely free of stress. Eat home-cooked food and avoiding oily junk food which will make you lethargic. It depends on “why” you were brought to the police station.My “specialty” was DUI enforcement. I can’t even remember how many times a drunk would say, “I’m not saying or doing anything until I speak with my attorney.” I would hand them back their cell phone and say, “Ok, call him.” Usually they would not know the number, so they would ask for a phone book, which I would provide. Then they would fumble around and call one of the attorneys whose ad looked impressive. Usually, they would receive voice mail and leave a message. In most cases, the attorney would not call back (remember, we are talking 230am or thereabouts).In a couple of cases, they DID know an attorney’s number. In one that I remember, his brother was an attorney.Let me be clear on MARYLAND state law when it comes to providing a breath sample for the Intoximeter test. Under MARYLAND LAW (your state or country may be different), when you sign for your driver’s license, you agree to take a breath test if ever requested to take one. Failure to do so can result in your license being suspended (when I was on the road, it would be for one year).An officer was required to read a page-long form from the Dept. of Motor Vehicles explaining the penalties that could be imposed against the person concerning suspension of their driver’s license. The suspension period could be 45 days, 60 days or 90 days if they PROVIDED a breath sample and was dependent upon the breath test results and how drunk they really were. The suspension for FAILURE to take a breath test was (if I remember correctly) six months for the first offense, 12 months for the second offense and (I think) 24 months for a third offense.They are not being charged with a criminal offense and therefore DO NOT have a right to refuse the test until they speak with an attorney. The reason being, the body will filter out the alcohol at a rate of .005 BAC (Blood Alcohol Content) per half hour. So for a drunk arrested at 2am that would be 0.08, in three hours time, it would be .05 and under the legal limit.DMV wants to know the BAC at the time of arrest or shortly thereafter. Usually, there is a limit on the time the officer has to get the breath test completed (I believe it is 90 minutes, but it’s been 10 years, so I’m not sure).The officer is required to read the form verbatim to the driver - and then ask if the driver is going to comply with the DMV directive to give a breath sample or not. It does not matter to me, as the officer, whether Junior gives a breath test or not…it’s his license and his suspension - not mine.When Junior says, “I’m not providing a breath test until I speak with my attorney,” if the night is slow and I have a breath tech right there processing other drunks, and I have to wait 30 minutes or so until it’s “my turn,” I’ll play the game and hand them the phone book.Usually, I would just mark the form as a REFUSAL and process them as I normally would. (First-time drunks get to have the option of having someone come to the station and pick them up. Second offenders and above USUALLY will be taken to the local lock-up facility and held pending a bail review hearing - and they will also be able to meet with their lawyer [or the public defender] prior to the bail review hearing.)DRUNK DRIVING is a killer. I chose that as my “focus” because I wanted to stop drunks from killing innocent people because of the drunk drivers’ bad decision. I had no patience for a DRUNK DRIVER. If they refused to take the breath test when asked - they were put down as a refusal. If they changed their mind 10 minutes later, I would say “Too late. You already made your decision.” If they were undecided as to what to do when asked, it would go down as a REFUSAL. Unless they immediately decided “I will take the test” at that moment, I processed them as a refusal. Once I started my paperwork, that was it. They were not given permission to change their mind. PERIOD.SO - I hope that answered your question. A traffic arrest is not a CRIMINAL arrest and we did not have to read the Miranda Rights to the arrestee. Only the DMV Form that dealt with taking the breath test.

Finally, a few Rules of Thumb: Start early, but not too early. A good guide is 6 months before if you're on a demanding full-time job and only available to study on weekends; 3 months if you're a full time student, or increase that to 8-9 months if you have a family to avoid this.Leave the last month before exams for practice papers and last minute revisions.Aim to have gone through the notes twice prior to the last month, if possible. Or at least the sections you're weaker in.If you’re in this case, ie. you can study CFA full time, then my advice is to :register as soon as possible (to get the best discount!)start your study 3 months plus two weeks before exam datereview content at average speed of 1 book every half month (=> 2 books per month * 3 months = 6 books + 2 weeks for reviewing content)it’s true that some books are far bigger than others, but it’s just an average. It might be better to follow your schedule per study session (90 days (= 3 months) / 18 sessions = 5 days per study session) I don’t recommend going lower than 5 days per study sessionwithin last two weeks:review all summaries from all books and redo all exercices from all books perform mock-exams. review your areas of weaknesses (identified with mock-exams and redone exercices)perform sample examsreview all summaries from all booksyou’re ready!
