PDF Editor FAQ

Could you go to war with a hunting gun and survive?

Guy, thanks for the a2a, I’m not really sure why you would want to go to war carrying a hunting rifle or pistol only, and I seriously doubt if you would be allowed to do so with the approval of any organized military unit anywhere on the planet, but that said, I suppose anything is possible. In my mind, it would largely depend on your choice of “hunting gun” as you put it in your question. If your “hunting gun” was a sidearm and not a primary weapon it might make more sense, considering that people have considered .357 Mag to be an outstanding hunting firearm as well as self-defense firearm. Your biggest problem would be in your ability to procure ammunition. Your ability to procure any ammunition not issued by your military unit is always limitedIn rifles, many calibers of hunting rifle are either former, or current military calibers, and while it might be fairly easy to come up with ammunition in a war zone for calibers in use by your unit it could and would probably be impossible to get some exotic caliber you might prefer to shoot. The real question in my mind would be, why would you want to bring your own firearm. Sure I know some people like General Patton carried personal handguns but Generals do not find themselves engaging the enemy in the field in a gunfight. When Patton first started carrying his famous Colt SSA .45 cal. this was the caliber issued by the Army for field use. Once he became a General he had access to better supply logistics than a field soldier so he could carry what he wanted without a problem. If you are not a General that supply logistic for personal ammunition would be a very big problem. The idea of taking your own personal firearm on a deployment into a combat zone would be a bad idea on so many levels. To answer your primary question, could you, Maybe, probably not, but maybe. Should you? Not for any reason or good idea I can think of at all.

Why do most revolvers have six bullets?

Howdy, Collier Revolvers (hand turned cylinder) were four shot, Colt’s Patent was for six shot as were his pre production examples, Five shot Paterson tended to be small calibers. His first Rifle was a lever action (ring pull) in .44, six shot, then his Carbines were in sizes up to 16ga…six to nine shots, in 1848 he stepped back down to five shot, then in 1851 back to six with the .36 Navy. In 1860 he discontinued the Dragoon a heavy six shot, made a new .44 cylinder/barrel for the Navy Colt. He continued with the SSA .45/.44–40 Peacemaker.

What states are the most difficult to get a Social Security Disability claim?

The South. To even get SSI, for example, if you’re not a women with young children or older than 64 years-old, you won’t be considered until SSA determines you’re disabled. You simply can’t walk into a DFACS office and “apply”, they simply won’t consider you eligible until Social Security determines you are disabled.Secondly, most SSDI claims are determined by administrative law judges. That means you have to have a hearing with a state judge. Many serve as gatekeepers and as much as they are told to follow SSA guidelines, politics is politics. What held up my determination was my IQ. At the hearing that is what the judge focused on, not my condition even. It was a formality, since SSA determined that I couldn’t be retrained, and work would be difficult for me to find. So it was a 3 year wait for a judge to talk about my “extraordinary intelligence”, not that my condition itself was the reason I applied for SSDI. You learn age and IQ will hold you back much more than your condition will, as they expect more from you. So a 45 minute formality over half that time was an IQ talk. IQ doesn’t make your body stronger nor pay the bills, though. So the South and it’s very conservative ideas of work and who is eligible for SSDI makes it one of the most difficult areas in the country to qualify. I live in the South and got my judgement before 2000 (when determinations were much stricter and 3 year waits was the norm for a hearing), and can attest, despite all of the recommendations I followed to the letter, and was in a state program even and my advocate was a case manager, I still had to wait 3 years for a judge to talk about my IQ to “pass” even. That is not something the South should be “proud” of to this day, either.Doctors speed through disability claims, make millions: 6 takeaways from our investigationADDED: when SSA wanted a comprehensive cognitive/IQ test done they had me goto THEIR psychologist to administer the exam. Being LOCKED in a tiny office for 3hrs I wanted to stand and stretch my legs. That doctor THREATENED me that he’ll void the test if I did. Essentially I was his prisoner. I was so angry at that time, my case manager herself called the test over. When I went to the SSA office to explain what happened, the lady mumbled something “He wasn’t very good was he?”, like they KNEW people complained before. It was probably his evaluation that stalled my determination. 3 years waiting for a decision is beyond inhumane, more so with no income.
