Can you write a story from a disease’s point of view?

Yes. I can do a long one. But I will try to make it as reasonably short as possible. In 2010, I was diagnosed with a rare disease, The Osgood Schlatter Disease that is a childhood repetitive-use injury that causes a painful lump below the kneecap. In the previous year, 2009, I had excelled in soccer and had played in the provincials and the big dream that year (2010) was to play the in the nationals. That dream was shut down as my knees were plastered at Kakamega General Hospital. As both knees were affected, each knee was plastered for three months separately, doubling it to six. The doctor cited rest as the only solution. The time soon elapsed and the plaster was removed. I focused on academics the rest of the year and I did well to join a county level secondary school within my home sub-county, Musingu High School. In 2011, it was soccer again. I worked hard to represent my school in the Copa-Cocacola Secondary School tournament and I made it. I was part of the junior school team already. In 2012, I was in the second form and I joined the senior team in March. I saw my dreams of playing soccer come big again. It was fun. I improved through regular training and playing in local youth tourneys every holiday and I was a regular starter in the school team in 2013.In November that year, I obtained a serious left knee injury from a bad tackle in a game with our fiercest rivals in soccer in the western Kenya region, Kakamega High School. I was unable to walk properly again. For some reason, I never received serious medical attention. I was in school for one week until my condition worsened and the school nurse had to send me home. I visited a hospital in Kakamega Town and the doctor there backed some orders at me in a strict sense after consultation, to never play soccer in my life. I was 17 and that is the most painful thing my brain had to process. I went back to school completed the 3rd form and then graduated to the 4th form in 2014. I heed the doctors advice but then after several months, my knee had normalised and the pain had hugged me goodbye. I was tempted to play in the least competitive interclass and interhouse games and I did. I felt like I can play competitive matches again as at some point, I felt no pain at all. After finishing my secondary education, I started playing in the local youth tournanents. Then as I intensified in playing, the pain came back. I’d play with the pressure, my knee asking me to stop but I couldn’t. I purchased a firm bandage and I would wrap it around my knee, pretend I am fine, talk off the concerns of my friends and play.I joined college (Machakos University College) in September 2015 and I joined the college soccer team immediately with excitement and forgetfulness about my history with injuries. One evening after training, my knee gave away and I had to use crutches for the rest of the first semester. My troubles and worries were reborn. I felt bad to have gone astray the doctors instructions. 2016 was a quiet year but the noisiest for I never played a single game yet the pain in my knee escalated. In January 2017, I had an accident. I slid while watering animals and then my knee gave away totally. I was rushed to a hospital called St. Lukes Orthopaedics Hospital in a town called Eldoret. At the hospital, the doctor, whom his name I can recall only as Kisorio told me that my meniscus had raptured and that surgery was the only solution. My meniscus was surgically removed. I used crutches for around two months and drugs worked well. Then the last checkup around May 2017, the doctor mentioned that I should never play soccer. He added that I should shy away from activities that would strain my knee in general. I cried to myself but then I accepted. Right now, I watch soccer and I can play but when I look back, I see a hell that I wouldn’t want to invite back.It has been 9 years of struggle with injuries, all needing discipline to control and a strong spirit to pull through. The story of my disease and injury taught me a valuable lesson. Adherence to the doctors instructions is the best thing that a patient can ever do for themselves and for the people they love. I do light exercises, drink lots of water and also eat healthy just to keep my knee strong like the doctor asked me to a few years back. My dream of playing soccer is gone now but I feel happy to see my friends playing in the Kenya Premier League.Thank you for reading and for upvoting.

What African country is the best to start a brick manufacturing business?

Kenya is the best place for you. Trust me Mary HamptonIn western Kenya at a place called Vihiga County. Here are reasons:You will only have one competitor - Kenya Clay Products Ltd co-owned by Tata Limited and Kenyatta Family (dig more information here) however they supply their products mainly in central Kenya and target high end consumers. Low end consumers are served by the brick makers in the informal sector spread across the country but very disorganized. KCPL will be the only competitorThere is cheap labor and people willing to work for a living. you will enjoy their services. This sector is not overtaxed like petroleum, Gas and food stuffs. taxation is friendlyThere is huge market in western Kenya in places like Kisii, Kisumu, Kakamega, Siaya, Busia, Uasin Gishu, Transmara and in cities like Mombasa, Nairobi and Nakuru. And if you use machines to produce cheaply in mass production keeping economics of scale in mind, you will dominate the market for years to come.Soil here dries up faster than other parts of Kenya. Red in color, I don’t know much stuff about this specialty but I schooled in a nearby University(Maseno) at the wee years of the millennium.Infrastructure is well catered for. There is a rail to major cities and roads to major markets are all tarmacked. There is security for your business from locals and from security agencies. In Kenya we love investors AKA private developers.Getting a permit to roll your startup takes you less than 7 days and can be done online Gateway to All Government ServicesThere is room for expansion to Uganda, Rwanda, Tanzania, Burundi and Southern Sudan through the East African Community trade pact that makes moving of people and goods easier and less tiresome. We have a learned population too. Almost 78% of Kenyans are literate who can be relied in making hard business decisions. Kenya Adult literacy rate, 1970-2017 - knoema.comThis country is just naturally beautiful and people are friendly save for politicians (these gene are a catastrophe everywhere) but dreams should not be shattered because of them.If you take this seriously, I can get you a consultant who can get you finer details. Kenyans are looking forward to give you a warm welcome.Karibu Kenya

How do I start a bodaboda business?

Step 1: Identify a MotorcycleYou may be wondering which is best for you. Most comparisons are based on the sale price, cost of maintenance/repairs, fuel efficiency, hardiness and looks. The good news is that with so many brands available, you are almost certain to get an option that matches your budget and needs.Step 2: Raise the capital or acquire a loanOnce you are set to start this venture, you should have a capital of between Ksh 60,000 to Ksh 110, 000, for those who intend to operate a single motorcycle. This amount will cater for purchasing of a new bodaboda, insurance cover, protective jackets and helmet and fuel. For those that intend to have more than one motorcycle, multiply the amount given above with the number of bodabodas you intend to own.If you are unable to raise the full amount, you can opt for bank financing. To do this, ensure that you employ a reliable person to ride your machine. Put a target for him, if he exceeds the target, the better for him.Step 4: Choose a ‘Base’It is no secret that some areas have more demand for bodabodas than others.
