The mask takes the form of a pseudo smile but underneath the facade there is a well of bitter resentment that festers away to the very core.Preferring to present an image of self control to the world the wheels of inner anxiety begin to churn when a friend, acquaintance or worse still an ex comes into some seriously good fortune such as sizeable promotion, inheritance or marrying a wealthy partner. Overnight they are now no longer top dog with these people and boy that really really grates inside.Narcissists are status obsessed so therefore having more ‘stuff’ such as the house and flash car is something that is seriously important to them. Actually more an obsession. Think how they feel working with someone who is naturally more popular than them. Who has more friends than them. Goes better holidays than them and drives a bigger car. Worse still this person appears really nonchalant about life and derives as much pleasure from helping others as they do enjoying the fruits of their labours. These people do not only make narcissists anxious. They drive them complete ferkin nuts!!We all know how much they need attention so when the exaggerated tales no longer cut it and they begin to become ignored once again the stomach will be churning away inside asking themselves what the hell they can possibly do to reverse being ignored.In a nutshell if you know someone who is a narc who is a complete pain in the ass or unfortunate enough to have one as an ex. You want to know what makes them all really miserable and anxious? Just you enjoying yourself. Simple as. Sure you can have the bigger and better toys but its being really happy and content that will have them fizzing away inside.
