They began making everyone fill out health questionnaires, and anyone with a temp above 100.4° F (38° C) was denied boarding.** This ship was held in port after a passenger exhibited signs and symptoms of coronavirus.They removed salt and pepper shakers from restaurants. The regular menus were replaced with sheets of paper. Bathroom doors in public areas were propped open so the handles would not have to be touched so many times.Cruisers thought that if they were relatively young and in good health, the virus posed no danger to them. Besides, the deals were too good to pass up.And then, ports started turning ships away. People fell ill on ships. At least one person died.Following that, at least one cruise line required any passenger over the age of 70 to get a certificate of medical fitness from their physician, or they would be denied boarding.A couple of lines voluntarily stopped sailing. Just the other night, the president announced that all cruise lines have ceased operations in the United States.As my eternal good luck would have it, my cruise was supposed to leave out of Florida on March 28th. Not anymore. Who knows when they will be sailing again.I believe much bigger restrictions lie ahead shortly.

I knew because I received a phonecall from a local food processing factory, asking me to remove her from the site because she couldn't count to twelve.I was the recruitment manager and the customer was one of the biggest employers in town and the jobs weren't great, working as production operative meant standing in a cold warehouse, next to a conveyer belt containing frozen fish fingers - her job was a minimum wage job, temporary work with absoulutely no security and the factory workers hated the temporary workers, they wore different hats so they stood out and were spoken to like they were a pile of poop.One fifth of the population in the town has had to work at this place and with high unemployment stats for the area, people were pretty desperate to work there.To get the job they had to complete a food hygiene test, a health questionnaire and a maths test.A lot of people struggled with the maths test and I had workers that couldn't write, people who had fallen through the system and I used my discretion for that because that sort of work doesn't require GCSE'S and I had staff of varying levels of education, some had degrees and some were retired and either bored or skint and some had never had jobs before and all of them needed and deserved a chance, there was very few people that I refused to employ but I sacked 100's (200 people in six months, infact) for failing to turn up or for making rubbish excuses, bees in the attic and three bikes stolen in a fortnight, sorts of excuses.A lot of people have an issue with maths, but generally most people can count twelve fish fingers.But that day, when I received a phonecall from the factories HR department - I realised that I'd definitely chosen the wrong person for the job.

My wife came down with illnesses that she probably had developing when I married her, but I married HER - not her body. If this man has such performance quotas for a wife he should clearly state this on the health questionnaire he should give to all prospective wives.
