Why are people protesting the shutdown in the U.S. with the reason "I need a haircut"?I saw that sign at the protest.It’s the perfect distillation of everything wrong with America today.We don’t mind if other people’s safety is put in jeopardy, so long as we look good.This is a superficially vapid society. That sign sums that up pretty well.Earlier today someone posted a screen capture of a man throwing a fit about Gov. DeWine closing bars on March 15th, followed by that man’s obituary on April 15th. That's the type of unhealthy sort of perverse glee that pervades Facebook these days. I found the post itself in bad taste, but also a necessary cautionary tale.Naturally the comments were full of people claiming the whole COVID thing is a false flag operation meant to destroy Dear Leader.There is no cure for stupid.Somehow in this country the Right to Free Speech has become the Right to Inflict Ignorance on Your Fellow Citizens. It’s exhausting.I think every state should open up a public corral for dumb people. Once you go in, in you stay. If you get sick you better hope there were some dumb doctors that went in with you.That’s not the point of these protests though. They want everyone to risk their lives and others’ livelihoods so they can get a haircut and drink beers with the guys in the afternoon.They want the liberals in tightly packed cities to die so they can win their stupid internet arguments. Hell I’ve actually heard some of these people say it’s only killing blacks and old poor people so it’s not that bad.Everybody is cash strapped right now. Everybody is uncertain. What none of them get is that even if all of the governors open it all up, that’s no guarantee that anything actually opens back up.Businesses need to get employees to actually come back. Keeping staff has not been easy for necessary things like grocery stores in a lot of the country. People don’t want to get sick, especially all of the people without health insurance. That’s ten percent of the population. Frequently they're the very people that these people want back at work.Guys like Sean Hannity and Alex Jones might advocate for full reopening but are those guys going to be out in a press of human bodies?No.Most of these protests looked to be people in close proximity, not following any safety protocols, demanding that other people drink their Kool Aid, the very thing they accuse other people of constantly.Let ‘em protest. Let ‘em wave those signs. Let them remind you that we are in this situation because far too many people don’t understand personal responsibility. They’ve never quite understood that Freedom is purchased with personal sacrifice, and sometimes that sacrifice isn’t optional.This thing has cost me thousands of dollars, and will continue to do so as I pay people to do what amounts to busywork, with little hope that I will turn a profit.That’s okay. I planned for this, in a sense. I understood that government couldn’t save me, and I planned accordingly. That cushion is finite but it’s not gone. I can struggle through this. It’s a sad indictment of our society that so few did or even could.There are people who can’t file for unemployment or loans or grants. I used to be one of them, and when you willingly put yourself in that situation you need to prepare ahead of time. A rainy day is always just around the bend.Most of us are still at work, but we are only working limited hours because the customer base isn’t there. Nothing the government does is going to change that. People will spend money when they have it AND they think it’s safe. You need both things. No one in government can convince people it’s safe, because “politicians all lie” is an accepted truth. These very protesters claim that Dr. Fauci is a Deep State shill, not even grasping the insanity that if the Doctor is suspect so is everyone else and that includes the President. Fauci literally works for the President directly. He’s an Agency Head.I need a haircut too.I’m a big boy though, and I own scissors.

Asking money for a girl patient for bone marrow cancerHi all,From past 3 days few people are calling me and telling me that they are from mother concern, a delhi based NGO and then went on telling about a girl patient who is having bone marrow cancer. At first they told me that they would send me the complete case details to my email id which one of you has also posted, so I would'nt post it again.When I didnt contributed that day after reading the email because I was in a bit of doubt that it could be a fraud too I got this message today morning:Good mrning to you,this is from mother concern.we had spoken with you regarding help for baby GUNGUN cancer patient & also shared URL to u but might be bcz of your busy scheduled we didn't rcv your kind help yet pls atleast provide your response can we expect help by your side ? bcz currently this poor girl child is in very sad condition & fighting in b/w life & death in the intensive critical care unit and in this emergency ur help is going to be of great value & importance.lord would bless you & your family for the same.volunteer_HARDHIKThen I didnt respond to the message. The guy named Hardhik claiming to be the volunteer called me and told me to contribute asap. He told they have collected rs. 12000 and the girl has now been taken to OPT for the procedure at 4 pm and we need 21K more to save her. It was already 12 noon.
