Ironically, those are the people who have never been subject to such systems that allow the above to happen.For myself I'm a quiet sort. A touch agrophobic, prone to anxiety attacks. I lived a peaceful existence until I reached 35 years. I met my partner and took on her three children from her marriage and we have two of my own.Her ex husband is not a nice man. He's been in prison for assaulting his girlfriend in front of children. On my end we tried to stay civil, but it wasn't possible. We were subjected to harassment in various ways, one being calls to anonymous calls to Social Services.In this country, a simple, anonymous call to Social Services triggers a process which, once triggered, cannot be stopped.This is because Social Services have made mistakes in the past and children have suffered. So, if the call is made, Social Services must investigate. Theyd be viewed unkindly if they made more mistakes. So to cover their backs they now investigate everything.They do this by surprising people on their doorstep and demanding entry. If you should refuse, the default thought is that you have something to hide and you'll be threatened with the police.The police are happy to pop out and assist Social Services in gaining entry to your home.You'll be offered a choice. Allow them in because they have a legal right, or be arrested and your children…well, I guess some officer or other will look after them for you.On this occasion I submitted and allowed the authorities to do their investigation. They poked here, there, everywhere. Strangers in suits in my babies bedroom whilst daddy stands back. Nothing to hide. All is well. How embarrassed they were. They wrote it down as a malicious act and closed the book on it.….until the call was repeated some weeks later. And ya know, they get the call, they have to come out….And who pays for these invasions that anyone of us could fall victim with an anonymous call? The taxpayer. I'd not care to know how much time and money is wasted in these “malicious calls” and the chain of events they trigger. Nor would I like to know how many other families are devastated by such actions.*Edit: I'm editing this to add a couple of horror stories involving social services, the courts and the law, and the way the citezens of this country are treated.
