He was called over the phone before the delivery day. The problem I saw was inconsistency at its best and not updating their online intake software in sync with the present - the original 2010 policy didnt mention about Adhaar card as it was in the works.Main DHL website of India zone suggested if the consignee is an individual then addhar card is enough because it has photo and address everything on one document. But the link DHL sent asked for 2 mandatory documents - i simply uploaded the adhaar card of my Dad twice and authorization letter is prewritten by them..we have to check the check box.According to the email I got from DHL, they said it is mandatory and they are building a database of this info.All these emails are generated auto if posting a question through website. The customer service online was next to useless. I never called though.It was a pain especially when my parents are not tech savvy, and uploading via email or smart phone was not their option without asking for external help.The good news - if you do this once, then repeat shipments through DHL is easy, atleast according to the website literature.Bad news - heavy custom fees :-(Good luck!
