I was a news cameraman filming a plastic factory fire. I had positioned myself on a small hill across the road. Both the senior fire and police officer had come over and chatted with me for a couple of minutes and were happy with where I was as long as I stayed out of the smoke.About 10 minutes later a female first year comes over and says I am not allowed there. The female office walks in all proud.I tell the RDO that an officer had directed me to walk through the smoke.He stood up and loudly said “They did what"The female officer shrunk a little which made the senior look right at her. I never pointed out who it was.I was then allowed back where I was.2 weeks later that female officer came up and apologised and said it was actually a good learning experience for her. It would go through the senior line first before going to a more junior line even if Rhaegar predeceased Aerys unless some member of the senior line was disqualified or rendered junior in some way (e.g. by being female, in the Targaryen succession).For example, Edward the Black Prince was Edward III’s oldest son and heir, and in turn he had a son named Richard. The Black Prince died before Edward III did. So who became king when Edward III died? His next-oldest surviving son, John of Gaunt? No! The Black Prince’s son Richard, of the senior line, succeeded his grandfather Edward III, becoming Richard II.To put it in more modern terms, Prince George is ahead of Prince Harry in their succession.
