In the legal course we had in business school, the law professor would say - "It is my job to be the no man and your job to be the yes man". A leader by nature is an optimist. He sees a rosy path. His counsel by nature should be a pessimist. He should point to the thorns.The reason why we have two different roles - RBI governor and Finance Minister - to manage the economy is essentially along the lines. Like yin and yang, tester and developer, they complement each other.RBI governors like all bankers and lawyers are selected to be very conservative. They have to look for the worst case. When the bankers party, things collapse like it happened in 2008.On the other hand, an executive cannot be that sullen and pessimistic. That would break the system as the gloominess would catch on. He/she has to be the head cheerleader to get the system going. They have to find a smile even when the situation is deadly. Because, they are the morale boosters. We have already seen the effects of having a sullen economist as a Prime Minister for 10 years. While he was smart about economics, he was not able to cheer or guide the economy.You don't want an economist to lead the country nor a politician to govern the RBI. When Raghuram Rajan is pessimistic and Narendra Modi is optimistic, it means both of them are doing their jobs. They differ because one is looking at the worst case and the other at the best case.

I will presume this question refers to the actions by the USA against Huawei. I know that Australia and New Zealand have also banned Huawei 5G products but the main instigator is the USA.Technically, the USA are breaking WTO trade conditions. Under WTO rules, it is not allowed to stifle competition if all the trade terms are met. Examples of trade terms are applicable tariffs, conformity, anti-dumping rules, etc. In Huawei’s case, the company has done nothing to breach China and USA WTO terms. Better Call Saul is damn good, but it's not for everyone.Most TV I have seen in the past 20 years is plot and effect driven. A lot of its appeal depends on shocking viewers with plot twists (few of which actually surprise), car chases and CGI violence. To some extent, the actors are presented as a product. The sitcoms more and more are cartoonish and rely on short quips that are more often than not obvious, crude and (to me) unfunny. This is why programs that take different approaches stand out so much, and why there are so few of them.It's not just harder to carry off a drama that doesn't check off the usual boxes because it's complicated. You have to raise millions to produce a show, all with no guarantee it will be a hit. It must be extraordinarily hard to pitch shows that aren't like every other and fight the pressures to make your show like every other. People who do actually carry it off deserve a lot of respect, even if what they've produced doesn't appeal to the "general audience."Relatively few shows are character driven and develop a complex narrative that draws out something in the characters (and the actors) that was not apparent on the surface or expected due to the genre. Such programs are more challenging to watch, feature tautly written dialogue often with multiple layers of meaning, and use the visual medium to fuller advantage. Better Call Saul is one of these shows. True, the story of a wisecracking, struggling fledgling lawyer in a nowhere desert town who teeters between scraping by on honest work and a life of petty (and not so petty) crime just isn't going to win over everyone. You have to like noticing the details and accept that not every loose end needs tying.The Gilligan team has taken the unusual dark comedic edge that Breaking Bad had and are exploring it through this series. The result is a series that focuses on human nature more than anything, which lightly parodies the legal profession and American culture, and which stands out for its narrative quality in the way it interweaves backstory with comedy and drama in clever but often subtle ways. It requires some effort and thought to enjoy, and yes, some people don't want to work that hard. For people who want and expect creative TV, however, Better Call Saul is a gift.
