Passing a test requires knowledge of the said test, special preparation specifically designed to pass this test, and continued support throughout your application process (I assume the speaking test is only one step of whatever you’re working on, may it be a job application, university application or immigration).I assume you’re preparing IELTS or TOFEL test. Let me tell you this, a lot of native speakers probably wouldn’t score very high in these tests. And they are certainly ill-equipped to tutor anyone simply by the merit of being a native speaker. There are plenty of services in China that specialized in different types of tests. I can't really tell you what camera is right for you, but I STRONGLY recommend renting a camera before you buy. Buying a camera is like buying a car, you should test drive it to make sure it "feels" right. Figure out what you want a camera for (landscapes, sports/action, portrait, general purpose), do your homework (PDN Magazine is a good resource), and then find someone you like and trust at a decent camera supply center. Renting is inexpensive, and you're under no obligation to make a final decision before you're ready.The "feel" part is kind of important. DSLRs can be intimidating at first, so it should feel like something you'll actually use, but DSLRs can get heavy. My basic equipment is about 8lbs, just body and glass. You might not want that.As for specific models, I can only speak for Nikon, but I've heard the D70 and D90 are decent starter cameras (I personally have a D700 and a few lenses, the SB-900, and lighting accessories).
