PDF Editor FAQ

What are the most desperate things you've done to pay a bill?

I was a newly divorced, 21-year-old, single mom and college student. I moved back home with my parents. They were indeed, the best free daycare for my baby girl while I attended college and cleaned houses in the afternoon. I still had to pay for diapers, food, fuel, medical insurance and car insurance.I was poor, desperate and wanted to get my own apartment. One day, my economics professor came up to me asked if I saw the ad in the school paper. I hadn’t, so I asked him what it was about. He stared at me intently and asked, “Have you ever thought about selling your eggs?”“Why no,” I exclaimed. “Isn’t that a sin?”Dr. Gholami, the economics professor, said that it depended on how I viewed it. He suggested that I could be helping couples with my fertile eggs who can’t have children. He told me that he and his wife had been trying to conceive a baby for years. He admitted that my Northern European features and light blue eyes were what he was looking for and that if I was interested, he would personally pay me $2500.I thought about it. I thought that I could never do that. I thought about it some more. That was a lot of money for a girl like me.So I went into the fertility clinic and filled out a questionnaire regarding my health history and basic genetic information. They drew some blood.I told the fertility clinic that my information was solely for Dr. Gholami and left my home phone number. (I couldn’t afford a cell phone back in 1995.)The next day, I casually discussed it with a male college friend who happened to be gay. He squealed and instructed, “Take no less than 10 grand for your eggs… You’re beautiful!”“Really?” I surprisingly asked.“Really!”Soon Dr. Gholami and his wife called and met me at the clinic. There was no convincing required. They happily agreed to pay me $10,000. and any expenses for my eggs. I even brought my bouncing, blue-eyed toddler with me! The Gholami’s fell in love.Strangely, I felt proud, not ashamed to give a cycle of my eggs.I felt like God had chosen me to help this couple. And they were helping me. I just thought, “What a blessing!”Receiving the money was sure an ego-boost after being repeatedly cheated on by my ex-husband the year prior.I actually didn’t use the money for bills. I went to a children’s store called Gymboree at the mall, and bought my gorgeous little girl some cute outfits. I also used the money to pay for my masters degree, as tuition and books were expensive.I soon graduated and began a fantastic career. My daughter has always been well-cared for and recently graduated from college herself. What a blessing!

Should the candidates running for public offices disclose their mental health history and current mental health status?

Nope, our overall US health (mental and physical) care system has far too many failings to be remotely useful. Disclosures would be meaningless. Mandatory health screenings are really only required by law for school age children anyway.Other ideas about fixing what's wrong:Requiring a neutral questionnaire that gives a view/profile of elected officials' moral stances on the world and issues might be useful.Banning corporations and political parties from influence meddling is an idea, but probably too late to get done what's needed.Far stricter financial equality rules for those in office might help steer the overall system back towards actually helping lower and middle income households. At this point, the US is the laughingstock of other first world countries because of the expanding financial inequity that has been allowed to occur over the past 50 of so years. Until we adapt our current system to be far more like the rest of the first world is using, things will not improve. Reduce US defense spending to divert money into the needed cultural transformation.Possibly use a small federal sales tax to help pay for socialized healthcare in the US. A system must include mandatory price controls for consumers and suppliers, removing the idea of profit from the system.

How do we need to change our courts so that people with a narcissistic personality disorder do not have custody of the children?

The family law system needs to be completely overhauled, period. The Court is running a divorce as an advesarial contest instead of the breakup of a family. Implimenting the following ideas would be a good start in creating a less painful process that actually benefits each family and helps identify individuals who have personality traits identified in the dark triad.A detailed and comprehensive questionnaire should be developed by a team of people who are educated in the detection of malignant personality disorders and the spectrum of the pathology. The questionnaire should include information about specific family dynamics, ask questions pertaining to style of parenting, level of co-operation and hostility between the spouses, ect. The questionnaire should be able to make a cursory assessment of the stressors effecting the parties, possible personality traits that will negatively impact the divorce process, an assessment of the maturity level of the parties, the abuse risk level faced by the children, as well as concerns about deception, emotional abuse, or retribution attacks. A determination of any imbalance of power that exists in the marriage should also be assessed.A summary of the family's problem issues, and a comprehensive conflict reduction plan should be created. The written questionnaire serves to eliminate unconscious bias and favoritism that dark triad personalities tend to garner from the officers of the Court.Conflict reduction plans should address the need for parental education of both parents. The plan should outline a specific protocol for conflict resolution. The plan should include Court Orders for more in-depth psychological evaluation when mental health issues or personality disorders are detected. Each parent should be provided with clear description of their obligations and boundaries of acceptable behaviors in communication between the spouses and in the interpersonal relationship with the children. A process for reporting violation of these boundaries and any consequences should be spelled out in detail and immediately acted upon.Custody and visitation should be allowed to all parties, unless there is reason to believe the children are at risk for abuse. Visitation should coincide with the disordered parents progress in the court ordered therapy and contingent upon said therapy.Deception, manipulations, gaslighting, smear Campaign, hiding assets, alienation, ect., Should have swift and severe consequences.Age appropriate children's questionnaires should be created and completed in order to obtain insight into both parents prior caregiving history with the children, and to make sure the children's concerns and fears are considered.Compulsory Group counseling for every child on a weekly basis, and continuing until final decree is concluded.A weekly assessment of their parents progress and continued adherence to the boundaries put in place for the psychological welfare of the child should be mandatory.I believe the Court and the intelligent people who work in the Courts would have no problem creating a system that is kinder and gentler than the one we have now. The only obstacle is the masses of high paid divorce attorney's who are the only benefactors involved in the current process. Unfortunately, the judiciary are understandably bias in favor of their law school alumni.

It's a form software, and it works. It has some decent features, but nothing that really stands out - aside from HIPAA compliance if you need it (I didn't)
