Well 2020 was a year full of unexpected events. I did not have many but some of he events were :-My Job offer in Tokyo was not revoked and I travelled to Tokyo on December 4th 2020. It was very unexpected as Japan being the most cautious of all the countries was not expected to let us in before 2021.I met someone very special in my life which led to a huge personality change and made me introspect about my statements that I made in the past.I learned cooking.My grandfather being 85 years survived Covid-19 without any proper hospitalisation. It proved yoga and proper lifestyle really helps to boost our immune system.Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur (IIT Kgp) made an exemplary show of the strong and powerful management which had enough courage to keep the students till 20th June with zero positive cases and with proper food and care. (It was the only IIT that dared to do it)My dad being a doctor managed to protect himself from Covid-19. I am really proud of him.I managed to stay in my room for almost 6 months with literally zero physical contact with friends.(Its unexpected because I am quite extrovert and I like to be around people)This was the day I left for TokyoWell IIT refrained us to go out of our halls so we had very small farewell photo of Computer Science department within our hall.My first photo in JapanWell happy me during a weekendPlease Upvote if you liked it. Most people have a wrong perception about Maggus. They think every Maggu looks like this-In ‘3 idiots’, this character was shown, albeit comically, in negative light. The movie showed this character as someone who-Only cared about gradesHad no friends and lived in isolationWas disliked by allMemorized every single thing word to word.Studied day and night with almost no social lifeCould go to any extent to score betterMocked those who couldn’t score wellBut people failed to notice that he was also someone who possessed these qualities-Hard-workingCompetitiveAmbitiousImmune to public perceptionNot every Maggu has the negative traits of this character, but almost all of them have the last 4 skills and I find nothing wrong with it. It’s true that they are often mocked for doing ghissai (studying day in and day out). The common logic for mocking is that they do not focus on concepts and just mug up everything to score well. Even if that’s true, who has given you the right to call someone names?If you don’t want to study and appear cool, then don’t. Let others do what they’ve come for. They don’t intrude your space, why should you?Edit: After reading some thoughtful comments, I just have to add this—First, I do not believe in memorizing every small thing. I do not support it.Second, whosoever has cleared or even attempted JEE knows that it cannot be cleared by just memorising (even inorganic chemistry needs some understanding of concepts). So if you're still called that after being in an IIT, I do not find a logical explanation for that.Third, who has given you the right or anyone for that matter to label anyone?Image credits: Google
