Rental Agreement Credit Card Form: Fill & Download for Free

Avis car rental.I had to fly to the UK so planned ahead and booked myself a hire car online. The clerk who dealt with at Heathrow deliberately scammed me for more than double the amount of the original booking. Complaining to head office essentially got me a politely-worded ‘fuck off’.The following emails explain it all.Hello Avis UK. I have been trying your 'helpline' since September to get someone to talk to me because I have been SCAMMED by your Heathrow location.I booked a car online (Ref. 41***) for $238.54 and when I arrived and presented the guy my printout of the booking he printed out something, ran through the stuff in the contract and then asked me for my credit card and had me sign the form (Rental 812901666). It was only once I was back in Australia that I realised that my credit card had also been charged another $288.31 and all the while he didn't say a word to me.I have tried a chargebank on my credit card, but AVIS UK say the form I signed at Heathrow (after 26 hours of flying) is a binding contract. Maybe so. But answer me this; WHY would I book online and then make a whole other, separate booking in Heathrow for the same dates?Please could somebody contact me. Allow me to explain that the prepayment included the 7 days rental for an A car category, the basic insurance and the related taxes. The excess with the basic insurance was up to GBP 1000.00. These details are also listed in the booking confirmation.While I appreciate the circumstances described I would like to highlight that it is the customer’s responsibility to check the charges listed on the rental agreement before signing. I would like to add that it is normal procedure at all of our stations that we ask our customers to carefully read the rental document before signing it. Our staff is more than happy to explain the calculation if assistance is required. Based on the attached rental agreement it is clear that our agent took time to highlight every charge listed on the document and asked you to put your initial next to them. By leaving the rental station our customers accept the items listed on this document. On the basis of this information I can confirm that your final charge stands as correct on your account.As it was mentioned in the below correspondence, the credit card company was also review the case and found that the charges have been applied correctly to your rental.I do hope that the provided information will be of help.————————Hi Judit,Thank you for writing to me. I understand from what you have said below that the additional charges are for additional extras. However, I did not ask for these extras and the employee who dealt with me at the Heathrow location did not explain he was loading up my booking with these extras. I would most certainly have refused them at the time if he had told me what he was doing. If I wanted any of these extra services, I would have booked them when I paid for my vehicle online on 7th June.I firmly believe that your employee saw a tired individual and took advantage of that fact. He took my printout of the online booking, my credit card, and then printed out the rental agreement. He circled a few items and said that they were what I had already paid for, and said another one was what I would be charged if the vehicle was not returned fully fuelled. I signed the agreement based on this. Not one mention was made of insurance or roadside assistance or anything else. He did not explain he was taking a payment from my card at that time.I paid GBP 117.97 (AU$238.54) for the online booking from my bank account on 07/06/. My credit card has been charged GBP 162.34 (AU$288.31) on 13/09/. Something is obviously wrong somewhere, as my credit card has been charged more than the original booking! I have effectively paid for the hire car twice, plus additional unwanted services I did not request. Reviewing the contract I can see that each item has been further highlighted with circles to draw your attention to the full breakdown and final charge to be applied.I would like to confirm that the charges are correct and we shall uphold them as our final decision on the matter.Thank you for your understanding.

CDW/LDW are expensive and may not be necessary. If you have collision and comprehensive coverage on your personal car, it may cover a rental vehicle also. Your credit card company may also provide coverage as a bonus benefit. You must use that credit card for the rental in order to trigger the benefit.If you will be in a rental for more than a few days, it may be cheaper to buy physical damage coverage online. Google “car rental coverage”.The rental company may provide liability coverage up to the state’s statutory minimum. Your personal auto policy may provide excess coverage over what is provided by the rental company. If you are in a “replacement vehicle” rental, your own liability policy is likely to be primary.If you do not have a personal car with insurance, it is possible to buy “non-owned vehicle” coverage. Remember, statutory minimum coverage is which is chump change. You need a lot more liability coverage!Additional drivers must be identified to the rental company at time of rental. There is a surcharge for additional drivers. If you let someone else driver the car, you will be in violation of the rental agreement with plenty of unpleasant repercussions.Driving off-road or on gravel roads also violates the rental agreement.Read the back side of the rental form—that’s where the contract is located.
