What is the first day of MBBS like?

A long answer ahead .August 1st 2018,the first day of my mbbs first year in Madurai Medical College was colorful.. Yeah you read it right, really it was colorful. It was my special day. Me and my parents entered the college.,where we were welcomed by our pre final seniors with a hearty welcome. We can't see our immediate seniors since they are busy with their first professional exams. All the girls and boys who were greeting us and guiding us were in traditional attires. Girls were wearing colorful silk sarees and boys in veshtis(dhoti ,Tamilnadu style).we were waiting in front of our silver Jubilee auditorium were out senior volunteers were preparing it for the function (the function started by 10 am, since I'm an over enthusiast I was present there by 8. 45 am the entrance we were asked to enroll ourselves for Blood donation and alumni association .Then we were asked to pose for our ID CARD PHOTOGRAPH. When I entered the hall, the song changed to inkem inkem inkem kavalae(a recent Telugu hit song) and all the guys and girls were oh oh oh..Then our college dean , chair persons and other dignitories arrived. Inaugral speech was giving and welcomed us. The Chief guest was doctor .Anish sekar IAS sir, the corporation commissioner of Madurai city and doctor. Nagarajan sir, a renowned doctor and an alumni. They first congratulated us and started their speech. After their speech, our respected dean sir intimated us that we will be having only orientation classes for the next 3 days and our real classes will commence from monday from this year. And we were assured that this ia a ragging free area.Oh I missed, when I saw a senior I called her mam, but she told me to call as akka(sister in tamil) since only then we can develop a bondage with them, I was soo happy)Back to the auditorium we were called to the stage to take photos with the dignitories.During the break our seniors called us to take a group photo with them. Then we were servedwith snacks and the culturals started. First was Tamil thai vazhthu to honor our language then bharathanatiyam. Then a hip hop cum rap performance, kuthu dance, songs, group dance by our dear seniors. They have arranged lunch for all of the freshers and their parents . After that we were called for hostellers meeting and our senior warden and students cabinet members instructed about our hostels rules and regulations. Then we moved out to buy the essentials for hostel. After bidding good bye to my parents, uncle and auntyand my grandma I entered the hostel room chatted with my room mates and slept. Now I woke up due to mosquito bite and took scrolled down on quora where is question urged me to answer. Thanks for reading.Oh I missed something...When I entered the hostel and finally reached my alloted room, I was welcomed by this. Then I came to know that my immediate seniors were giving their 1st prof exams and they were studying nearby keeping the bones on the rack near my room. Actually I was not terified seeing this but mom and aunt was shocked since I didn't expect this welcome to the medical college and I will never forget this incident .

What are some laws common people of India unknowingly break in their everyday life?

So here I am presenting some of the things which are prohibited by law but common people of India unknowingly or knowingly break them. And what are the punishments/fines for breaking these laws and rules, because we are Indians, and it is in our gene to “break the rules”.LITTERING THE STREETS:Littering the streets is a publishable crime in many cities in India, including the national capital, New Delhi. One should avoid throwing garbage/littering on streets, and support Swach Bharat initiative.Fine~ It will have monetary penalties much like the penalties which come under the category of ‘making atmosphere noxious to health’, the SECTION 278 of INDIAN CRIMINAL LAW. Fine of ₹200 to ₹500 should be taken from person founded littering in public.PLAYING LOUD MUSIC :Article 21 of the Constitution of India states that every citizen has the right to decent environment, right to live peacefully, right to sleep at night and a right to have leisure, which are all necessary ingredients for the right to life guaranteed under Article 21 of the Constitution. Also, as per the law, No one can claim a right to create noise even in his own premises that would travel beyond his precincts and cause nuisance to neighbours or others. In 2005, the Supreme Court had in an order stated that no loudspeakers could be permitted after 10 pm. The apex court had defined the intervening period between 10 pm to 6 am as 'night'. It had imposed a ban on playing loud music or making any type of noise during this period.Punishments~ Playing loud music is no sound business. It can land you in trouble – in fact, deep troubIe. As per Section 15 (1) of the Environment Protection Act, it can set you back by ₹ 1 lakh and even land you in jail for five years. It doesn't matter whether you are doing so during daytime or at your own place.SMOKING IN PUBLIC :In India, smoking in public places was prohibited nationwide from October 2, 2008. Globally, India is one of the largest hubs for online piracy. Also, under the Indian Copyright Act, a software pirate can be tried under both civil and criminal law.Punishments~ Under the Indian Copyright Act, a software pirate can be tried under both civil and criminal law. What do you think about living in Memphis, TN?

I have loved living in Memphis when I was there. And I have been there several times off and on. I have always visited the city often, but living there is different. For me it is home, the place I was born as well as my parents and grandparents. I remember front porch moments at grandmom’s House with hydrangeas that we’re as tall as grown ups.Memphis is the city that taught me to appreciate music, from Al Green to Tchaikovsky. There were always chances to take in music. My school would have a number of music programs throughout the year. As young kids, the ballet may either come to school or we would take a field trip to see it. I remember local rock bands arranging concerts that we would pay a few bucks to go see in the high school auditorium. And who could forget our versions of lip sync battle years before LL Cool J. And the stages in parks host free concerts where I have caught acts before others had heard of them, later I could point in pride.Although a lot of people think of Elvis when they think of Memphis music, so many muiscians were born there, created their art there. BB King and John Lee Hooker let you know plenty of people know the pain of love gone wrong. Bread taught us a tenderness in the 70s. Isaac Hayes threw down some soul that took the screen in Shaft. The Staple Singers and Al Green would make you feel some church. Al Kapone shook me when he took the stage during the North Mississsippi All-Starts show and he had me hooked. And Justin Timberlake could make you dance. And those are just some of the acts I have seen perform in a city they called home at least part of their lives. I missed the opera singer Kallen Esperian though I have tried numerous times to see her and one of my great regrets in life is not having seen more of the musicians from Sun Records like Johnny Cash! Today there are so many new artists working their way up starting in Memphis. Rock, soul, rap, country and more. It is there to enjoy.Memphis is here I learned so much about people and compassion.Growing up, my grandparents lived in a community that was shifting demographics. More white folks were moving out to suburbs but my grandmom was living in a home her dad had built. She loved the house and neighborhood. Starting school as integration regulations were put into place, many kids in Memphis were suddenly in neighborhoods where all the skin tones were not like theirs. For me it was just school and the friends I would make. I didn’t realize how tense it was for grownups at the time and I still appreciate that my mom was one who always made sure we knew kids were kids…. Not to get hung up on color, where they went to church or hair texture.I left Memphis for college and came back there for grad school and to set my career in motion. It is in Memphis that I found my adult self, learned more of what I was capable of and that growth potential was something I could really make use of. i found the connection to agriculture through writing for some trade magazines and realized I could do amazing things as I dreamed and worked hard to get there. It was Memphis folks who encouraged me to fly, and that I did as I found my way to New York to build my career for a number of years. And heat Memphis remained my touchstone, the place to ground me even as I moved to Mississippi for more than a decade.I finally made my way back to Memphis after years afield and the music scene, the awesome people and potential were all still there but it seemed fewer people saw it. More had moved to the suburbs but I am a city girl and chose a neighborhood where the university still had influence, where there was a mix of people, all of whom were trying to improve their lives and the lives of loved ones. These years were intensely full… concerts and basketball on big stages as well as small school venues seeing family.Once again, I am living outside the city’s limits… this time it is a short drive but one I don’t get to make often enough. I dream of barbecue whenever I am away. The upscale versions that FedEx around the country and the ones with drive through that only serves a zip code or two. I dream of donuts from my local place…. A simple chocolate frosted is a marvel to enjoy. There is the spring r#( for snow cones, knowing the wait you have in line is oh so worth it. And a pizza place that few in town seem to know but that has hosted decades of celebrations for family and friends.Wish I could hit the road now…. Granted I may not live in Memphis, but Memphis sure lives in me!
