PDF Editor FAQ

Which job is respectable in other countries but not in India?

There are plenty of such jobs in India, but the one which I have one in mind is something which definitely needs our attention and we need to change our perception about them and that is TRUCK DRIVERS.Truck drivers in India are the most hated person when it comes to their job.The police beat the hell out of them just for money.Public beat them abuses them for being slow and on top of that even if the driver is innocent still he is the one who will be bashed.Owners treat them like robots make them work day and night just to deliver more and more cargo to earn money. It is difficult to control such a huge vehicle so they often meet with accident but we never see that side all we know is beat the hell out of them. And take their hard earned money to get our cars, bikes fixed.I it just that we ignore the fact but the trust is the truckers are the most important part of a countries economy. If they go on strike the whole nations will stand still. They run over loaded trucks because their owners wants them to so that owners can make more and more money. They often get looted by the people because they carry cash for fuel, taxes, repairs and all. The more I write the lesser it is to explain what they go through that too without complaining.I have plenty to write but deep down inside us we all know how we treat them and on top of that even if they come in front of us half these stupid people driving on the road abuse them curse them and what not. There is barely anything which does not involve trucks in them, for transportation , be it food items , clothes , machinery , everything in this world needs trucks and truck drivers. There life is miserable no family time because most of the time they are travelling it takes days to delive cargo, no place to sleep, rest or even for food. Half the time they sleep in their trucks or even below them, they cook food in the truck because they don't have any other options. They have so many health issue to stay awake at night they either chew tobacco, smoke and what not and they do all of this just to deliver things on time. How of you might be thinking ki “Kya hua agar ek din late Ho Gaye delivery mein” so I would ask you one thing would you like to have rotten bread for your breakfast or what if you get today's newspaper delivered tomorrow . If yes then they may take some rest. When it comes to what these people have been doing for us and how they do it with how much pain and stress they go through . We can never repay them. I know not all of us can do things for them or we don't have the source to help them to have a better life but I guess we all can give them a little respect for what they have been doing for all of us to get things on our doorsteps that too without complaining .I will add few photos which might help you change your perceptive towards TRUCK DRIVERS in India and the difference between the Indian trucker and Truckers around the World.INDIAN TRUCKS AND TRUCKERSTRUCKS FROM AROUND THE WORLDAll I would say in the end is show some respect to them.Image source: Google

Why do many people view motorcyclists negatively?

Because of squids.Squid is the term other bikers give to those who ride motorcycles in a way that shows they are immature and inconsiderate. Examples:They weave in and out of lanes in fast-moving traffic, never considering how limited vision is inside most cages (biker term for cars and trucks). Most motorists definitely do not want to hit anybody or anything with their vehicle, but suddenly a squid pulls up into one of their blind spots.Squids fall overboard for the myth that “loud pipes save lives,” forgetting that most of the sound from a bike’s pipes are directed behind the bike, at motorists who can already see it, and could hear it with ordinary pipes. They simply ride too close to other vehicles, especially other bikes, leaving the other vehicle little room to maneuver in an emergency. They forget that, although bikes can usually accelerate faster than cars and trucks, they usually cannot brake as well, because of the very small size of their contact patch.Squids are a minority of bikers, but, alas, not a tiny minority. They give the rest of us a very bad name.

What is the craziest request you have gotten when you were buying something (car, boat, bike, furniture, etc.) from someone who was so deeply attached to the item it felt like they were losing a part of their family?

I had driven down this same street many times and noticed a dusty old Mercedes Benz sitting in a driveway. It was clear the car had not moved in a long time. One day, I stopped and looked at the car: 1967 Mercedes Benz 250S. No dings, no dents, shiny paint as far as I could tell…the car was in excellent condition. I walked around the front and there were the European headlights. Through the side window, I could see the optional air conditioning under the dash and the stick shift and the European instrument cluster.I was startled when a female voice from behind me asked, “May I help you?” I turned around and there was a young lady standing behind me. “I have driven by here several times,” I said, “and was curious. It looks to be in good condition but it never seems to get driven.” With a sigh, she said “Yes, it does not run. I have had the car for about seven years. I bought it from my boss who came here from Germany to start a business. This was his car and he brought it with him from Germany. I fell in love with the car the first time I saw it, and when he was ready for a new car, I bought it.A couple of years ago it was running rough and was hard to start. My boyfriend decided to tune it up. He worked on it all weekend and the car never ran again. He worked on it off and on for a while with no luck. I bought another used car to drive, but never could afford to tow it to a shop to see what was wrong with it and how much it was going to cost to fix it. The boyfriend is gone but the car is still here…” I asked her if she would be willing to sell it and made her a fair offer, hoping that what she had told me was true and there was nothing major wrong with the car. She accepted my offer. I wrote her a check and called a tow truck driver I knew with a roll back. We did the paperwork, the tow truck showed up and he loaded it up and headed for my house. As I was ready to leave she said, “Would you do me a favor? This sounds crazy, but…you are probably going to clean it up and get it running.” With a tear in her eye and voice she said. “I hope you understand, but… I don’t ever want to see the car again…”I spent a week getting the car running (The boyfriend had crossed two plug wires and had the twin carburetors completely screwed up) and got it cleaned up and driving. And I kept my word. Even though I sometimes had to take a longer route, I never drove by her house again. Not the actual car but identical to it. (Picture from Bing Images)
