Maxwell's Demon is an absolutely silly thought experiment that posits the existence of a mythical creature that's capable of both observing the properties of molecules and manipulating a physical system without itself consuming any energy. Supposedly, this mythical creature is capable of violating the second law of thermodynamics (by being "choosy" about where it allows different types of molecules to go), but since we've essentially bestowed it with silly, reality-breaking superpowers, it's probably capable of anything.What (I hope) Maxwell's Demon is attempting to illustrate is that any time you observe a local decrease in entropy, there must be something coupled to the system enabling it. Instead of picturing the "something else" as a microscopic demon (endowed with super-human decision making abilities), it helps to instead consider coupled physical processes.Biology is full of just these sorts of coupled reactions -- ranging from immediate coupling (the consumption of ATP driving biological reactions -- like DNA replication) to much longer term coupling (the conversion of "low entropy" carbohydrates to much higher entropy water, carbon dioxide, and waste heat.) While the local environment of DNA is relatively low entropy, it's surrounded by many processes that are constantly increasing global entropy; no second law violations required.

Take look at the following two pictures.In the first picture, you see how soap molecules surround dirty spot, lift it away from the surface and carry away with rinsing water. A soap molecule is endowed with two ends-one, head is negatively charged, the other is neutral. The neutral end sticks to the oil, which is having neutral molecules, the negative head is attached to the positive part of water molecules and pulled out from the surface. It is then washed off with water.

A Hindu will attribute it to karma. Other answers are also available as the ones I read here. To me, how does it matter? It is like bubbles on water. Some big, some small, some burst immediately, some float for a long time. But, essentially they are all same water and air molecules like we are all made of energy and matter that is also forming the cosmos. If you imagine the life of cosmos, then the lives of humans are next to nothing. So, how does it matter if one life is rich and another por; one is endowed with prodigious intelligence and another dumb? Have you ever thought of an animal or a bird worrying about such things?
