Modi Government is unlikely to roll back the Farmers Bills/Acts due to the protests by some farmers in India.It is so because the Farmer’s Acts are by and large in the interest of most of the farmers in India, though it certainly harms a class of farmers as well.Let us look at the provisions of the three Acts that are opposed by a section of farmers.The Farmer's Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Act 2020 empowers farmers and traders to avail barrier-free intra and inter-state trade of farm produce and proposes an electronic trading platform for direct and online trading. It allows farmers the freedom to trade anywhere outside State-notified APMC markets and also prohibits State governments or APMCs from levying fees, cess, or any other charges on farmers’ produce.The Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement of Price Assurance and Farm Services Act 2020 allows farmers to enter into a direct agreement with a buyer (sponsor) to sell the produce to them at predetermined prices before the sowing season. This will reduce the cost of marketing, eliminates intermediaries, and boosts farmer's income and provide price assurance to farmers before sowing the crop.The Essential Commodities (Amendment) Bill, 2020 removes commodities like cereals, pulses, oilseeds, onions, and potatoes from the list of essential commodities and does away with stock holding limits on such items. This move is expected to attract private sector/FDI investments into the farm sector due to reduced regulations and increase investment for farm infrastructures like cold storage and transportation.In my opinion, these three Acts are largly beneficial to the farmers as they provide additional options to them (without reducing the existing options) to sell their products and also go for professional contract farming (only if they want and find profitable).However, the entry of corporates may cause competition is agri trade and may harm farmers in future.While the new provisions may affect some big farmers adversely if the MSP provisions are withdrawn (which government is willing to assure not to withdraw), it may benefit many farmers of the nation.It is for this reason that the farmer’s protest has been limited only to a few states and failed to spread throughout India.Hence, in my opinion, the Central Government is unlikely to withdraw these Acts.However, Government may modify some of the provisions to remove the fears of the farmers and may guarantee them MSP provision in writing.

After reading their Terms of Service agreement, it seems that by signing up with Degoo, you are offering your personal computer/device to them so that they can provide storage for other users. The fact that you have to use their software to upload gives me pause to think why do I have to give Degoo access to the 30 Terabytes I have on my home computer.Just something to think of.
