Internet Auction: Fill & Download for Free

Back when I used to work for "a large Internet auction site", we probably had a new hire loss rate of about 25% in the first 3 months, across the entire company.This was because it was a very high pressure environment, which demanded everyone meet deadlines and deliver at a high level. The company also expected new hires to be productive almost from day 1. That was a high bar and many new hires just decided to find a different job.It wasn't so much that they couldn't do the job, lacked skills, or wouldn't have fit in if given enough time to ramp up, but asking a new hire, to perform at such a high level from day 1, was a little unreasonable.

It is a open cry or sealed bid?Students: (Gave a gist of elective bidding process in IIM Kozhikode) We are given 400 points and we have to allocate it on subjects. We know the minimum bid and maximum bid and so on.Prof: So, i think it is a sealed bid auction. Also, it looks like there will be bidding wars to get the best and desirable subjects.Students : Yes Sir, the war will be obvious while bidding for GC courseProf : GC ??Students : Globalization and Culture by Prof. Mathew ...Prof. Shahid Abdulla : (After some thinking) Looks like, you use the most capitalist method to get a place to study most socialist subject.....The class banged their desks in acknowledgement like never before....

I bid for a car on an Internet auction site. And won! I didn't really want the car but it was cheap. It had an auto box. There were some problems with missing paperwork. Once I got used to the car I really liked it. (Ford focus since you ask.) But it had a random, intemittant fault. It would splutter for a couple of miles before clearing. This was quite random and never happened in a predictable manner. I tried to narrow it down, a process of elimination. Sometimes on start up. Sometimes after 30 mins. Sometimes on acceleration.I couldn't locate the problem so I just lived with it. About a year later I paid for a diagnostic for something else which said.. There is also a misfire on cylinder 2. So it was a misfire alright but why cylinder 2? When I looked at the engine cylinder 2 was directly under the windscreen washer junction pipe. So whenever I sprayed the windscreen it would leak water onto the spark plug - causing a stutter. I fixed the leak and also bought a new engine cover. Problem solved. (I would never have located it.)
