I don’t know about most but it didn’t work out like that for me. I specialized in teen girls. Very expensive. I didn’t make them buy the cheapest shampoo, deodorant, razor, feminine hygiene products, etc. I let them chose. We went shopping once a month for clothes and necessities. I spent thousands of dollars sending the girls to formal proms and dances. We bought them new dresses, shoes and accessories. We took them on vacation.We wanted to help children (partly because I had a bad childhood) but we waited until we were doing well financially.I met other foster parents that were the same but I also met those that I felt were just in it for the money. I had started with my CA final classes exactly one year prior to the exam. The coaching centre where I have attended aims to finish CA-Final classes in 6 months . So, I had planned 6 months for classes and 6 more months for preparations (including 3 months during articleship).It is impossible to master all the subjects of CA-Final given the humongous volume to read and study. I targeted to complete two papers in each group, effectively 4 out of 8 papers by the end of articleship. Post classes, I ensured that I study for couple of hours in morning (6 am to 8 am) and little more than 2 hours in evening (8.30 pm to 11 pm). Following a disciplined schedule and strict routine is very crucial for success in CA exams.Financial Reporting is the first exam of CA-Final, Its not only a lengthy paper but also the deal breaker of CA-Final. I had a dedicated last 8 days prior to the commencement of exam only to Financial reporting, but to complete small concepts, accounting standards and guidance notes during last 3 months of preparations. The best thing I did was to ignore consolidation completely (considered as choice question) and master every other topic of Financial Reporting and be accurate, time conscious while answering the questions.With the blessings of almighty, execution of my plan and little efforts, I could clear CA-Final in 1st attempt.Planning is important but Execution is The Most Important aspect of every exam preparation. Plan according to your strengths, weaknesses, reading style and pace. Not to worry about other things be it your friend’s plan, progress and completion of the syllabus.
