PDF Editor FAQ

What is the nicest thing you have done to a person?

Back when I was in 6th grade, I had another young boy sitting right behind me in math class.I had never really talked to him, and the for the most part all I knew about him was his name. Just for the purpose of this story, we’ll call him S.Throughout the year I found the class super easy. I’d consistantly get the highest grades in our class of about 12 people, as well as get perfect quiz/test grades. Middle school math was easy, and I ended up taking Algrebra 1 in advance before high school (not too impressive, many others did it with me. Ie: Shaheer Jamil). So back to the story: S had consistantly low grades. He struggled greatly to understand the materials and the teacher was not going to slow down for one individual.I took notice one day when S goes: “Great job on the quiz Aaron”I turned around, shocked that someone else started the conversation (it was middle school) and replied “Thanks S, what did you get?”With a blatantly forced smile, he showed me his failing grade. He was just a nice boy who didn’t understand the material. From that day forward I helped S through the class. Sadly, my help wasn’t quick enough and he ended up failing the first quarter, but that didn’t deter me. Every homework, I turned around and made sure he understood it.Every in-class worksheet, I turned around and did it along with him, leaving him ample time to think before I answered. Before every quiz, I’d review material with him. This went on every day, for around 7 months.S ended up, not only graduating the class, but with a solid final grade of 82.He let me know that I was the reason he passed, and I have never been prouder.(Well except for the time I hit 100,000 views)Goodnight!

Should you punish your children for bad grades?

Let me tell you something. When I was in kindergarten, I was probably the only kid that didn’t do her work and didn’t know what the class was doing. When I was in first grade, I didn’t give a damn bout what we were learning and only paid attention when there was a project involved- projects meant poster boards, stickers, and other fun things. When I was in second grade, my teachers were well fed up. I never had a pencil on me and wandered out the classroom. My handwriting was dirty and the only tests I passed were spelling tests.Third grade wasn’t an improvement.Fourth and fifth grade consisted of worksheets on the floor, failed tests, forged test signatures, and reading in class.Sixth grade was different. I finally stepped up my game and got myself on the Honour Roll. Mom was crying. My mom never punished me for bad grades- admittedly, she’d be bitter at the end of the year as everyone else got Honours and I didn’t. She’d also lecture me.But mostly, she sat down with me and made me work. She made sure I understood the material and met up with my teachers regularly to make sure I was doing well in class. She got her hands on every extra bit of material she could find and that’s why I got Honours.Because my mother was a dedicated woman. Because she wanted to make sure I succeeded at any cost.I got Honours in seventh grade by myself. Same for eighth. She gave me a work ethic and I stuck to it.If she’d punished me, I’d most probably lose interest in my studies and fail even more.Do not punish your child when they fail.Help them overcome their failure.Be the parent that they’d be proud to have.

Everybody Up: Why are in-class worksheets not supplied to teachers in digital form?

Textbook publishers are understandably paranoid about any of their materials "getting out." Imagine a teacher posting a digital copy of the worksheet on their personal website for their students to access... but now this copywritten worksheet is on the internet for anyone to download for free. This is why many are wary of providing digital copies. My textbook publisher provides them, but only online. You can print them, but not download them.
