If you were fostered as a child, how did the different foster families you lived with compare?

The main similarity between the many foster homes that I was in was this: They all wanted everyone to know how wonderful they were, for taking in ‘unwanted children’.Aside from that, which I experienced in EVERY placement, they had very little in common.None of them were (outwardly?) gay, and none of them were Latino, or Jewish, or Muslim, or Catholic, or Immigrants… Some were White and some were Black… Most of them were over age 40… Some had kids of their own, and some didn't. They were all Americans, and they were MOSTLY self proclaimed Christians - many, many, MANY of them were fundamentalist, Born Again Christians.A couple of them had a bit of money, but most of them were, at best, lower middle class, or even more commonly, on some sort of social welfare - food stamps and disability checks were common. This could have something to do with the geographic region that I was in - I was in ‘care’ in NYC and Northern NJ, in the 70s and 80s.Oh, they all also had one other thing in common: THEY WERE ALL ABUSIVE.So, basically, they were all Americans, and all outwardly heterosexuals, mostly Christians, constantly bragging about how wonderful they were for taking in foster kids, and they were almost ALL abusing the children - either mentally and emotionally abusive, physically, and/or sexually abusive, or a combination of that, or even, quite often, all of that.If you think about it, someone without a criminal record who wants full access to vulnerable children, for nefarious purposes, can easily obtain a full and rotating supply of kids, simply by signing up to be a foster parent, and they can even get a little stipend check, to offset the costs… So, it shouldn't be a shock to anyone that many child abusers become foster parents! It only makes sense! And, they get away with it because ‘foster kids are messed up’, so nobody listens to us when we report the abuse… Eventually, we just stop reporting it.I will never forget the lectures on ‘The Boy Who Cried Wolf’ from the social workers… Any time I tried to report the abuse, I was accused of lying.Oh, and get this… If a child who is IN foster care makes a complaint ABOUT an employee OF Child Protection Services, meaning a complaint about THEIR Social Worker… The complaint is investigated by… Wait for it… Child Protective Services! So, that’s as bloody POINTLESS for a foster kid, as you'd imagine it to be.Anyway, after a while, we’d get to the point of, ‘Why bother reporting it? They will either ignore us, or just move us into the home of another abuser, and that one might be even WORSE.’Some foster kids get lucky, especially if they go into the system as a baby, because they sometimes get adopted right away, but by and large, I have not met many (if any) foster kids who did NOT experience some sort of abuse in some, or even all, of their foster home placements - and I have met several thousands of American foster care survivors. There are good foster parents, and some good social workers, and I even personally know three GREAT foster parents and about six good (and exhausted) social workers, but they are unfortunately in the Extreme Minority, according to the first hand reports from the large majority of actual foster care SURVIVORS.Yet, talk to any foster parent, and any social worker, and they will ALL extoll their own virtues, and deny that there is ever any abuse on their watch, and they will happily pontificate on their fabulousness for ‘saving’ the foster kids, for hours and Hours, and HOURS.They ALL have THAT in common. For those of you reading this, I want you to know that I’m absolutely fine now, but it is NOT because of the foster care system - it is in fact IN SPITE of my surviving the foster care system. I am in the EXTREME MINORITY of survivors who has managed to mostly escape the negative, lifelong repercussions of having been exposed to the many harms done to vulnerable children by the State. Sadly, so few of us even survive into adulthood, and the majority of us never actually Flourish. Before you write me off as nothing but ‘an angry, screwed up person’, based on my simply sharing the reality of my foster ‘care’ experience, which is something that happens to survivors of the system all of the time, know THIS: Today, my life is GOOD. I’m happily married to a lovely Englishmen from a ‘normal’ and tight knit family, for over eight years, I have a successful career as a writer and in the arts, and I am a graduate of Smith College (BA) and St. John’s University (MA), both of which were obtained by earning a full academic scholarships in my 30s. I’m peacefully living a nice, safe, clean, non-abusive, zero-addiction, upper middle class life. It took me a lot longer to get here, than it takes the average person, but I got here, eventually, and that is all that matters.Unlike most survivors of the system, I have achieved the herculean climb to simple normality - and I have done so with exactly ZERO assistance from the State. Unfortunately, I also have two insane Black Siamese cats, who never shut up, and drive me absolutely batty, so my life is far from perfect, but it’s all good. Today, I have far too much to be grateful for, and thrilled about, to even attempt to be ‘angry’ about my legitimately horrific childhood. That being said, Facts are still FACTS! And, the FACT is, the American child protection services system was, and STILL IS, totally F*CKED!!! Just look at the Abysmal Statistics… Look at the EVIDENCE… Look at the OUTCOMES of fostered youth… They are totally FAILING the children. We usually do not find a family after being taken into care. Over 100,000 children in foster care are eligible for adoption, but the large majority of foster kids are never actually adopted: Adoption Statistics | Adoption NetworkWe become victims of sex traffickers: 5 Reasons Foster Youth Become Human Trafficking Victims - AFRJ - Alliance for Freedom, Restoration, and JusticeWe are regularly forced by Christian fundamentalists to take part in religions that are not of our own choosing: Excuse Me, Lord: Religious Coercion in Foster CareWe do not obtain a high school diploma: National Foster Youth Institute | EducationWe have the agency in charge of ‘caring’ for us investigating the claims of its abuse of us, while we are in its care: Abuse in Foster Care: Research vs. the Child Welfare System’s Alternative Facts - Youth TodayWe end up in jail, and 80% of inmates on death row come from foster care: The Foster ProjectQuite simply, if we want to know if something is or is not ‘working’, we look at the RESULTS.The results for fostered youth are NOT good. And, would you like to know what people in and out of the system commonly say about the results?‘Those kids were already messed up.’Yeah, maybe… And, maybe that is called Victim Blaming… But, either way, ‘those kids’ obviously did NOT get the help from the State that they very much needed. The system is BROKEN. By and large, the system FAILING the children. In conclusion… I BARELY survived it, and as a survivor, I speak out about the continuing sh*t show of a situation effecting fostered youth, and about the continued struggles of formerly fostered adults… And I will continue to do so, even if/when I am totally discredited… I’m one of the few people who survived the system and is now in the position to do so. I am one f the few formerly fostered people who check the ‘credibility’ boxes of mainstream society. That being said: Nobody survives the system totally unscathed, not even me. It is something that remains with you for the rest of your life. It literally NEVER goes away.I will ALWAYS be a former foster kid. It doesn't matter how many other ‘acceptable boxes’ I can check! In the eyes of many, perhaps even most, my societal credibility, mental wellbeing, and personal views, related to many thing but most especially to the foster care system… simply for BEING a formerly fostered person… will always be… In question. And, that’s fine… Because, sometimes that feeling is actually mutual. The first rule of Foster Care Club is to ONLY listen to the Actual SURVIVORS of foster care! NOT the professional ‘experts’, meaning the social workers, group home staff, and the foster parents! They do NOT speak FOR me. They are not qualified to speak FOR us. Survivors can speak for ourselves. If they actually gave a f*ck, they'd try listening. As a survivor of care, it might interest people who have NOT Personally experienced foster care to know this: I would have very much PREFERRED to be neglected and abused BY my biological family, than be removed from my home and my school and my neighborhood, to be neglected and abused by a ROTATING cast of total STRANGERS.Think about it… Because, that’s the TRUTH. That’s my Truth, and that was My Experience as a foster kid, and I am far from alone. And, because this is all very depressing… here’s a funny photo of my evil cats, who we adopted from a kitty foster home (my weirdo husband photoshopped it):Thanks for the A2A, Louise!

Or do you invest in all of them? Which social media sites for business will provide the most ROI at the lowest cost? Before we dive into the best social media sites for business, let’s talk a little bit more about social media as a whole. Here’s Why Social Media Is Good For Business:81% of the US population has at least one social media profile, and over half have two or more. So, no matter which social media sites you decide to invest in, you have a high chance of reaching customers that you may not have reached otherwise!Furthermore, people aren’t just using social media, but they’re using social media specifically to make purchasing decisions! For example, 70% of business-to-consumer marketers have acquired customers through Facebook. 93% of Pinterest users use the platform to plan or make purchases, and over? of Instagram users have used Instagram to purchase a product online. Not only are people purchasing from businesses on social media, but they’re spending 20%-40% more money on companies that are using social media! And if that wasn’t enough, 71% of consumers who have had a positive experience with a brand on social media are likely to recommend the brand to their friends and family- growing your customer base even further! How Is Social Media Used For Business?Social media sites are great for reaching bigger audiences. By using these platforms effectively, you can increase visibility of your business, promote your products or services, generate new leads, and drive sales. Things like curated content and following best practices allow for businesses to market their services at maximum efficiency. What Is The Best Social Media For Business? These numbers above, among others, show that there is money to be made within the social media realm- but which one is best for your business? This can be a tricky question, because there’s not a single answer to this question. The best social media platform to use will vary from business to business depending on the products or services provided, audience groups, and platform versatility. Just like each business, each social media platform is specialized for different functions, content, and groups of people. That’s why we’re going to touch on the top 10 social media sites for business – so we can help business owners like yourself decide which platform is going to be the most profitable for you.10 Top Social Media Sites for Your Business1. FacebookIt shouldn’t come as a huge surprise that Facebook is number one on our list of the top 10 social media sites for business. With 2.41 billion daily active users, Facebook is the most widely used social platform.Whether your business goal is brand awareness, website traffic, lead generation, or online conversions, Facebook should (and more than likely will) make a notable difference in reaching your goals when used properly.Facebook’s wide user base and demographic of users is the main reason it’s at the top of our list; almost anyone can find their target audience on this platform and get in front of them. You may be thinking, “Okay, so my target audience is on Facebook, but how do I make sure they see my business page?” The answer is Facebook advertising (and a lot of great content!).Facebook’s advertising platform is by the far the most developed of all of the social media platforms (yes, even out performing Twitter and other channels that have been around a lot longer!).On Facebook, you can target by age, gender, employment, interests, purchasing behaviors, relationship status and so much more! This gives you the power to target your exact audience and put your ads and content in their newsfeed where they are already scrolling. If you’re wondering if Facebook is for you; our answer 9 times out 10 is yes. There are only 2 instances when we may suggest another platform over Facebook: the first being if you do not have a social media advertising budget, and the second being if your type of business is prohibited to advertise on Facebook based on Facebook’s ad policies (i.e. a vaping or tobacco company etc.).On Facebook, you have to pay to play, so while your target audience is more than likely using the channel daily, you’ll need an advertising budget to reach them. But even so, many of our clients have seen significant ROI after investing in Facebook ads.Combining great content and A/B split testing, with Facebook’s extensive, data, user base, and ad platform can be one powerful combination for your business!2. Facebook MessengerWhile Facebook Messenger is a part of Facebook, you have to download the Facebook Messenger app separately from Facebook to use it. It contains a few additional features outside of the ones mentioned above for Facebook! Thus, Facebook Messenger is number 2 on our list of social media sites for business.Facebook Messenger is an app that allows Facebook users to send direct messages to one another, and lucky for you this functionality also extends to business pages!Because Facebook Messenger is a part of Facebook, it has the same access to Facebook’s large user base and advertising platform. You can definitely use this to your advantage!Facebook has advertising campaigns that are specifically developed for Facebook Messenger. When someone clicks on an ad, they will be prompted to start a Facebook Message with your business page, and if they do, your business page can follow up with them in messages from that point on.If your business model is more focused on lead generation as opposed to ecommerce or more immediate online conversions, then this may be a good option for your business!Outside of using Facebook Messenger advertising, you can also set up automated messages for your business page. This way, if someone messages your Facebook business page organically, Facebook Messenger will send an automated message back to them (one that you have crafted).Oftentimes, these automated messages say something as simple as, “Thank you for reaching out to us! Someone will respond back to you within 24 business hours. Thank you and have a great day!”Even a message as simple as that one helps build trust between your business and potential or existing customers. Therefore bettering the chances of you making a buyer or repeat buyer out of them.3. InstagramInstagram comes very close behind Facebook and is number three on our list of social media sites for business. Instagram is owned by the same person who owns Facebook, and has 500 million daily active users.Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Facebook, saw so much potential in the platform and the benefits of Instagram that he bought it out just 18 months after it launched for $1 billion, and the platform has continued to grow since.Because Instagram is owned by Facebook, it has access to the same extensive user base and advertising platform just like the Facebook Messenger app does.So Instagram has all of the same paid benefits of Facebook, but Instagram also has its own set of organic benefits. When we use the term “organic,” we mean functions you can perform or results you can achieve without directly paying for them in advertising dollars. On Facebook, you have to pay for advertising campaigns to grow your followers and increase the reach of your page and posts. On Instagram, you can grow your followers organically and therefore grow the reach of your profile and posts organically as well! This makes Instagram a great option for both businesses with and without an advertising budget.Instagram is also a visual platform, as you can only publish posts that include photos and videos (as opposed to posting copy without a visual creative). This works to your advantage as a business since people remember 80% of what they see as opposed to what they read or hear!4. PinterestIf your business falls within a creative industry of any kind or caters more so to females, then Pinterest is a social media platform you want to be on.Pinterest has 291 million monthly active users. Out of those users, 81% are women, 93% of active pinners said they use Pinterest to plan for purchases and 87% said they’ve purchased something because of Pinterest.Food recipes, lifestyle how-to articles, wedding inspiration, and outfit ideas are some of the top searches on Pinterest. So if you’re business falls within any of those industries, you need to be utilizing Pinterest as one of your social media sites for business.Though Pinterest’s advertising platform isn’t as advanced as Facebook’s, you can still use paid ads to boost the reach of your posts and track online conversions through your Pinterest ads.Additionally, Pinterest has some organic capabilities that other social platforms do not. Organic reach on a Pinterest post is determined by the amount of keywords in a post and if they align with what a user has searched on Pinterest. This gives businesses a chance to strategically plan their content to contain words that are searched a lot on Pinterest, without having to use extra advertising dollars!5. SnapchatSnapchat is an app that allows users to send Snapchats (a photo or video) either directly to another user or to their Snapchat Story.A Snapchat sent directly to another user can only be viewed once, but a Snapchat on a Story (such as your business’ Story) is visible for up to 24 hours after it’s published. If your target market is largely comprised of a younger demographic, then Snapchat may be one of the more effective social media sites for business for you! There are over 350 million monthly active users, and 203 million daily active users on Snapchat, and 71% of those users are under 34 years old. Specifically, almost half of its users are aged between 18-24.Snapchat shares Instagram’s advantage of visual content since Snapchat posts have to include either a photo or video to publish. In fact, Snapchat has more than 10 million daily video views. Are your company’s videos tapping into these daily viewings?Snapchat also offers advertising options where you can pay to have a linkable Snapchat in the Discovery section of Snapchat.Between organically posting content on your company’s Snapchat Story and paying to post Snapchat in your target audience’s Top Story and Discovery feed, you’re sure to reach your market on one of the youngest and fastest-growing social media platforms!6. YouTubeYouTube is a video platform that allows users to watch videos and/or upload them.YouTube has 2 billion monthly active users, giving your business the chance to share company content wither over 30+ million daily active users who are likely to watch it.Similar to Instagram, Pinterest, and Snapchat, YouTube has the benefit of visual content, but unlike the other social media sites for business that we’ve listed so far, it has the unique stance of being owned by Google!Because of this, YouTube has access to Google’s advertising platform, and you can use this to your advantage when running YouTube ads.It also mimics its parent company in that you can optimize the search of your company’s YouTube videos with the proper keywords.Without having to spend extra money on advertising dollars, you can make your YouTube videos have higher search rankings by including the searched keywords in your title, video description, and actual list of keywords in the keywords tool.7. TwitterTwitter is one of the older social media platforms, and it has 336 million monthly active Twitter users. You can post photos and videos along with character-limited copy, but Twitter is most known for its feed of real-time updates. Is the term “live-tweeting” ringing a bell now?Twitter is also great for engaging new potential customers through its use of hashtags. Similar to Instagram, you can search a hashtag and find other posts from consumers and businesses alike that have used that hashtag. This means that you can find consumers searching for something that your company offers and vice versa! For example, if you’re a car wash company, you can literally find people tweeting about how they need to get their car washed depending on how they’ve used hashtags in their tweet. You can then tweet them with a discount for your car wash, and wa-la, you’ve most likely got a new customer.8. LinkedInIf your business follows a B2B model, or targets consumers based on job titles, then LinkedIn can be a powerful tool for you!LinkedIn has 303 million monthly active users, most all of which are in the working world or close to it.Because LinkedIn is considered to be a social media platform for business, people often include more accurate information about their employers, job positions, work email addresses and more than they do on other social media platforms that are utilized more for personal use.LinkedIn’s advertising platform is not as advanced as Facebook’s in terms of it’s campaign functions, but it does give you a lot more job positions to target than Facebook does. This can be crucial if the bottom line of your business is dependent upon targeting specific businesses or job titles.9. TikTokTikTok is a new social media platform that was launched last 2018. It’s an app that allows its users to create their own 15 second video clip and share them. Now it has 1.2 billion users worldwide with 500 million monthly active users. With these figures, it has now surpassed Twitter, LinkedIn and Snapchat – platforms which are obviously older. However, although it has so much potential capturing the attention of Gen Z, it still has a long way to go when it comes to advertising. The only way for marketers to use this platform for advertising is through influencers. And since it is still not that saturated compared to other social media giants like Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, a lot of brands now are using it to reach Gen Z – a market that seems quite hard to reach.10. YelpYelp is not always the first app someone thinks of when they think of social media, but it is on this list because it does play an important role in maintaining your company’s brand and image!Yelp has 178 million monthly visitors, and those visitors include people who want word-of-mouth confirmation of whether your business provides a positive or negative experience.Due to the nature of Yelp, this gives your business the chance to keep up your reputation by encouraging strong reviews and responding to the negative reviews.By doing this, you build an organic sense of transparency and trust between your business and your consumers, and this can play a huge part in growing and retaining your customer base.In ConclusionSo those are the top 10 social media sites for business that our specialists recommend! Think you know which social media sites for business are right for you but don’t have the time or know-how to manage them? Contact us to schedule a time to discuss how our social media marketing company can help you!

Is Norway really taking children away from their families? Why?

Quickly read it before Quora will delete it again and without letting me know!Yes, Barnevernet is still big problem in Norway. It´s organization, where only 8% of workers have some qualifications. It´s organization, which takes children from parents with force and without any warning in most cases. It´s organization, which traumatize, stigmatize children. It´s organization, which doesn´t follow norwegian law nor european law. It´s organization, which ignore decision of courts, even decisions of European court for human rights. It´s organization, which splits siblings, which doesn´t allow children to see their parents, which ignore abuse of taken children in foster homes, which isolate children until they obey them. It´s organization, which doesn´t need any requirements / qualification for new workers. In the main Norwegian media, directly from the head of the Directorate for Children, Youth and Family Mari Trommald, we learnt that she wants to see that 80% of workers have a university degree within ten years instead of the current 8%! What's more, this lady admitted that at the moment they have absolutely no requirements for hiring a worker, you just have to be interested in the work of a 'social worker', and you don't have to have a basic knowledge of the law.Nor is it surprising that 42 Barnevernet workers have been punished to varying degrees because they have allowed 52 children to be heavily abused by foster parents. They trusted them without limits and did not control their work! They ignored the reports of children and in two cases it was proved that they did not even log them. The Norwegian daily Aftenposten, referring to one study, wrote about these already fallen-off sentences, and the Norwegian authorities do not keep statistics on "foster child abuse".52 barnevernsbarn utsatt for grove overgrepNorway has been sentenced three times by the Strasbourg Court for human rights violations, has earned a strongly critical resolution from the Council of Europe, and it has come to the surface that children who want to return to their parents are locked into total isolation ...BarnevernsbandenBarna som bor isolertNorway lost to the European Court of Human Rights in Strand Lobben v. Norway. “The European Court of Human Rights has delivered a verdict in a flagship case involving a woman who was taken away by her Norwegian authorities and subsequently deprived of her parental rights and allowed adoption. According to the court, the Norwegians violated the right to private and family life and decided on "limited evidence". Foreign governments, including the Czech one, have long been awaiting the verdict. It may be precedent in the case of Eva Michaláková, which the Norwegian Barnevernet took away sons in 2011. ”In short, it was the fact that the mother took less than a month after giving birth to her son, practically could not see until the forced adoption of foster parents, she had a daughter at the time and it was said that she was trouble-free.European Court of Human Rights:[%22001-195909%22]}Indeed, Norway takes the judgment seriously by paying the mother money, and although it has in the judgment that the son should be allowed to visit and reopen the case when she went to greet him to school, she was banned for 6 months. Nor is it the first time that Norway has not respected the Strasbourg judgment and has said and done something else!Norway refuses to reunite mother with son despite victory at top European courtAlready in 1996 in the case of Adele Johansen v. Norway it was stated that the mother should never have been taken away from her mother, but she could see her daughter for the first time in three years and it was really only a short visit. The same is true of the case of Jansen v. Norway, when the family wanted to see at least occasionally a (rightly) taken daughter, but Norway gave the money and the visits are not taking place anyway, and that is a year after the judgment.European Court of Human Rights:[%22001-58059%22]}Vant i Strasbourg, men datteren adopteres bortEuropean Court of Human Rights:[%22001-185495%22]}The European court of Human rights handles an unbelievable 26 cases related to barnevernet practices, while between 2016 and 2018 at least seven members handled 28 cases. The resolution adopted in 2018 on "Striking a balance between the best interests of children and the need to keep families together" is unaddressed so that it can relate to all 47 but there is also an explanatory memorandum to the Council of Europe, and what has led the rapporteur to come up with the resolution - and here you can find the word "Norway" 20x and "Barnevernet" 11x, because practically everything was done on Norway's case.Striking a balance between the best interest of the child and the need to keep families togetherIt is criticized that BV takes min. 80% of children from families without warning in the acute regime, specifically in 2017, it concerned 1,342 children. Subsequently, in 90% of cases, the justification of withdrawal is confirmed and the first regular court is expected to arrive in the next 3-4 months. It is also 90% confirmed the reason for the collection. Only about 50 - 60% of the children thus removed are returned to their parents. They also criticize the practice of dividing siblings (6 out of 10 divided) and the subsequent extremely limited visits of parents to foster children and institutions (about 2 hours twice a year under supervision), often leading to forced adoption by foster parents in young children.De fleste barn hentes uanmeldtSeks av ti fosterbarn lever atskilt fra sine søskenAs far as the EU is concerned, Barnevernet became the official negotiating topic for the EU-Norway delegation sometime in 2017, when it was discussed at the 33rd interparliamentary meeting. The topic was presented mainly by Poles. The fact that it was received at the hearing was justified in the official press release of the Parliament by the concern about how many EU citizens petitioned against Barnevernet.https://www.europarl.europa.eu/cmsdata/124182/2017-02-23%20IPC%20Final%20joint%20press%20release%20EP%20and%20the%20Storting.pdfhttps://www.europarl.europa.eu/cmsdata/124183/20170224IPR63951_en.pdfMany world media have dealt with cases of the Norwegian social service Barnevernet, the German Deutsche Welle with the title Child services under fire, the Australian SBS Dataline with Norway stols stolen children, the French TV Arte with the document Norway , families torn apart (Norway, torn families), or the British BBC with the previously mentioned Parents Against the State. An independent documentary entitled Children of the State was also presented by Czech Television. But the BBC, which shone the light on another scandal in its second documentary, generated the greatest response. In particular, they reported on a high-ranking child psychiatrist Barnevernet, where police discovered over 200,000 photos of child pornography and over 4,000 hours of the hardest child porn ever imaginable. For example, one record also depicted the rape of infants by adult men or the repeated forced coercion of small boys for oral sex. During the trial, the person admitted that he had been downloading this completely forbidden content for 20 years but allegedly did not touch any child, so he was innocent! He got only 22 months in prison and after returning from prison, BV would return his two children from surrogate motherhood without any problems. This is good to put in the context of a petition of more than 200 Norwegian experts - psychologists, lawyers, pediatricians, teachers, former barnevernet collaborators, etc., who themselves protested loudly about how the alleged best interest of children was interpreted in some cases ...Notice of Concern – The situation within Norwegian Child Protection ServicesYes, the criticism of Norway is really great even in the Norwegian media. That is, pressures are already being held against journalists (officially "debate" ...), explaining that they inform one-sidedly, destroying the positive image of Barnevernet, stigmatizing their children and workers with extremely demanding work, and generally do not understand the subtle nuances in cases. Dagbladet journalist Asle Hansen, who wrote about how some children in Norwegian children's homes become addicted to drugs, but responds calmly: “I would like to write about positive cases, but when 15 out of 29 child institutions violate the law, so we have to write about it. ”Journalist i Dagbladet: – Vi yter ikke barnevernet rettferdighet når vi skriver så mange negative saker, men det er samfunnsoppdraget vårtBarnevernets EnglerThere ´s the case of “glass girl Ida”, where a 15-year-old girl was taken against her mother's will and then subjected to violence at least 87 times in seven different state institutions, at least 24 times put on handcuffs, 8 times in solitary confinement until she at least 40 times attempted suicide, overdose or other harm, when she even swallowed glass.Glassjenta - Stavanger AftenbladOne current scandal that came to light only after the ECHR judgment in Strand Lobben. There are not many children in Norway wishing to return to their parents. But Barnevernet isolates such children in abandoned places, under the constant supervision of social workers, or somewhere in a forest hut - alone, without internet and telephone. Probably not to ventilate their experience on social networks and not to contact their parents yet. For example, Karoline was held for 3.5 months, who decided to talk about this practice first because she is 18. She is said to be only six years old. Some are isolated for years.Barna som bor isolertBarnevernsbandenIt is interesting to observe the government's response to this revelation. I will not suspend for a long time, the Minister for Children offered 307 million to expand the capacity of Norwegian children's homes so that these things no longer happen ... More money, nothing more. This reaction seemed to upset Norwegian journalists themselves, as they came up with a few days to find out how much the state had paid for the child's isolation (paid as a service to outside companies, contracts are traceable) and found that in 2017-2018 it was already NOK 650 million, twice as much.Barnevernet får over 300 millioner i statsbudsjettetTjener millioner på barn som bor isolertTransforming child welfare: From explicit to implicit control of families (BARNEVERNET = PEOPLE CONTROL)Rapport om private aktører i barnevernetAnother disturbing finding about the Norwegian system is brought to us by the article De fleste barn hentes uanmeldt already in 2012. It says that eight out of ten cases of child removal in Norway, according to a study by Norwegian psychologist Gunn Astrid Baugerud, happened without warning.De fleste barn hentes uanmeldtIn her dissertation, the psychologist mentioned the memory and stress reactions of neglected children who were placed in alternative care by Barnevernet. The study itself is all the more interesting because Mrs Baugerud is the first person to investigate the removal of children by the Norwegian Barnevernet in depth. She has conducted hundreds of interviews with the children taken away, first a week after being placed in custody and then three months later. The psychologist was also present in the placement of children and monitored their level of stress. The conclusion of the study is no surprise. He says that the planned placement was much less stressful for children, while unscheduled removal caused panic reactions to the children in connection with various traumas, which they recalled very vividly even after several months. Beugerud also admitted how surprisingly the children remember the stressful experiences of taking away their parents to the smallest detail. What shocked the psychologist was the fact that eight out of ten children were taken suddenly without much planning by Barnevernet. In short, the child simply has to foster parents, and no one cares that he may suffer psychological harm. When they are taken away, children are far from sure that this is their ultimate place to be raised. Hundreds of children, according to statistics from 2009-2012, changed place twice and there were also dozens of cases where children moved three times in one year. However, there have been extreme cases where children moved four or five times.Yes, these were exceptions, but this also proves Barnevernet's inability to provide adequate foster care to children from problematic backgrounds. The consequences on the psychological development of children tend to be immense in cases where several families are replaced within a single year. In addition, the statistics completely lack information on how many children (siblings) from families were subsequently distributed, which is criticized by the Norwegian system and by a number of non-profit organizations and the UN.Because of Barnevernet's actions, Norwegian mother got asylum in Poland! Asylum went to Norwegian Silje Garm with her now almost two-year-old daughter Eira. She got in touch with Barnevernet only when she got divorced. At that time, the authorities took away her older daughter Fröya, on the basis of an unexplored report by her ex-husband (a very influential businessman) that she was abusing painkillers and leading a "chaotic way of life." Those who are more familiar with the various custody cases and parents' struggles for children must laugh at such a reason, but in Norway it was enough for Barnevernet Silje to completely forbid contacts with her daughter, which she could see after her 18th birthday. Based on this completely absurd accusation from my point of view, Barnevernet wanted to automatically remove the second daughter of Silje, ideally right after birth. Throughout her pregnancy, therefore, she was monitored by BV, the results of all her examinations for any evidence or misconduct. Absolutely nothing was confirmed, but it did not convince officials and still insisted on preventive removal.Neither in Norway nor subsequently in Poland has any doctor confirmed that Silje was under the influence of painkillers, even though she had had the opportunity to do so during a longer hospital stay. The arguments about any lack of care were also completely refuted, as Silje cares for her daughter perfectly and who follows her profile knows that Eira is a happy, loved and smiling child. Therefore, the arguments were accepted and asylum granted.
